I will never use Sears Home Services again. My girlfriend scheduled the service call to fix our dryer that had just begun to squeal. When the tech arrived, I asked what it would cost to replace the dryer belt and idler pulley and was told that an estimate could not be provided until after the $119 diagnostic fee was charged. The tech (who was very professional throughout...this review is not a reflection of his services) confirmed what I already knew and quoted me $406.69 for the repair...$300.00 of which was the labor. I have replaced the belt, pulley and even heater element on my previous dryer and know that, for a professional, it takes about an hour from start to finish max. So, to charge $300.00 for labor for an hour's work is way out of line. So, I am out the $119 and the $28 for parts I just purchased and will be doing the work myself. But hey...if you want to pay almost as much for repairs as a new unit would cost...don't heed my review and use SHS. At least their tech was professional. UPDATE: I elected not to call Sears Home Services as I ordered the parts and performed the repairs myself. The only thing SHS could do to try to remedy this situation would be to refund my $119 which would have made me feel obligated to remove my negative review. However, I stand by my review and want it available for others to make an informed choice. In my opinion, their tech should have been able to provide an estimate on request, not after the diagnostic fee had been charged, and SHS's rates are unrealistic for the work to be performed. I am the least handy guy you will every meet and usually make things worse when I try to repair something so, when I say the repairs should only take an hour for a knowledgeable tech with the right tools, I am being sincere. It took me three hours...and that was because I spent too much time looking for tools (I live in a rental and most of my tools are in storage). LOL

My washer has been broken for 17 days now. They promptly came out to try and fix the issue but after the parts arrived and they installed them, the washer still does not work. They have only been back once to try and fix it and said nothing was wrong but my washer still does not complete a cycle. They also made me pay on both visits when the second time should have been waived since they did not fix it the first time. I do not recommend Sears at all. My washer is still broken.

I ex0lained issue they sent the wrong parts took 3 days to get a live person to return the parts and get a refund.

Although the technician was only operating with the limited authority given to him. I don't attribute this rating to him. A&E is a bad business They bait and switch their customers, they are excessive in their charges and in my opinion dishonest. If I could give a negative star as a rating I would. If anyone decides to do a class action please let me know I want in..... Terrible business practices Update: 6-3-24 - As requested I provided my phone number and information to Sears Home Services and no one has called me. A feeble attempt to make it look like you care about this issue. SMH

0 stars. Horrible. Charged me 400 + dollars to repair a lid lock which I did not believe was the problem. DID NOT FIX IT. Then tried to tell ne to give more money to replace circut board which was brand new and working. We were told we would get a refund and just be charged diagnostic fee. Ended up having to buy a new washer. Supervisor did not return any of our calls. I Have called every week for the last month and a half and am told its still processing, will be escalted. 3 more days. 4 more days. making exuses. TOLD I NEEDED TO REMOVE THE PART MYSELF SO THEY COULD SEND SOMEONE TO PICK IT UP. When ask to Speak to a Supervisor always told none is available. STILL FIGHTING WITH THEM TO RETURN MY MONEY. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. SCAMMERS.

I was given a quote from Sears to repair my dishwasher which was not draining however the problem was diagnosed wrong. Sears told me I needed a new pump. I declined the Sears repair because at that point it would have been more cost effective to purchase a new dishwasher. After Sears left, I contacted a different repair company before purchasing a new dishwasher and they said the Sears diagnosis was wrong. I did not need a new pump at all, there was just a blockage in the water line. While the cost to repair was 1/2 of Sears estimate, my concern is that I was given the wrong diagnosis.

Since 11/23 to now 2/21/23 my refigerator does not work. No ice cubes and it still do not get cold. I have asked for a replacement mutiple times, but know parts ordered installed and it still does not work. Where is the replacement!!!😳
