Repair person "Sloan" was on time. I was in the front yard pulling weeds, and he called and walked up to me and gave his name. He followed me into the house and looked over the stove which we had pulled out part way. We explained that we smelled gas while trying to cook dinner, and he then checked all the burners, then got out his collection of thin wires and cleaned out all the vertical gas tubes in each burner. That made the burners work MUCH better. He then tried the oven, but it never came on, so he took out the oven bottom and tried to lite the burner. The igniter on the bottom of the oven came on, but the oven never sensed it and so no gas came out. For $800 we could get that oven burner replaced, but the cost of a new stove would be about that much so we said no. So we thanked him and paid for the visit and said goodbye. Nice guy.
