Service/maintenance packages are a total ripoff. An absolute joke. Their washer/dryer combo “service” (we paid $150) consists of somebody coming out to run a cloth over the inside and outside surfaces of your washer and dryer to clean up their appearance, and using a vacuum to suck up some lint. It’s not a diagnostic service that actually checks the parts of a washer/dryer that may be malfunctioning or broken. Our washer was shaking like crazy but the tech said everything was fine. When we kept asking why it’s been so loud and shakes so violently lately, he said “look, I’m really a refrigeration technician. The $150 washer/dryer service is not a diagnostic service. We basically just clean up the units. You need an actual washer tech to disassemble washer to find the problem. And that’s very expensive. So I suggest you sign up for our service plan.” He then spent the next 10 minutes trying to sell us on Sears monthly service plans. So that $150 I spent? Useless. He shined up the inside and outside of washer/dryer with a towel and sucked a bit of lint out of the dryer, which I could (and should) have done myself. Lesson learned. Buyer beware: do not pay for standard service/maintenance. It’s pointless, and simply a means for Sears to get a rep into your home to try and sell you on monthly service plans and/or more expensive repairs under the guise of “maintenance.” Hire a reputable washer/dryer repair company to diagnose the real problem right off the bat. I hired another company a week later. Tech quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the broken washer part for a very reasonable price. He also didn’t spend 10 minutes in “used car salesmen” mode trying to sell me on a monthly service plan. Shame on you Sears. You’re cashing in on the trusted Sears name/legacy, but your service (what you offer, the skill of your techs, your complete lack of honesty and transparency with your “maintenance” packages) is unethical and just plain shady. Side note: we bought our entire HVAC unit through Sears recently, and had used Sears in the past for oven and stove repairs. No more. You had, and just lost, a longtime loyal customer. People can tell when a company has changed, cutting corners to maximize their profits at the customers expense. IMPORTANT: Customers should be aware that Sears Home Services is now owned by a hedge fund. Whether a company gets bought by a private hedge fund or a private equity firm, they each have the same goals, chief among them maximizing the hedge funds/equity firms profits immediately by cutting quality and deceiving the customer. They win, while the customer looses. It’s profits at all costs. If you want to know why appliances are poorly made, fall apart so quickly, and repairs are so costly and rarely well executed these days, look no further than a private equity or hedge fund owned business. They’re terrible for consumers.

Broke the microwave frame and our kitchen cabinet drawer(doesn’t close now). Both were in good condition before the visit. Ran away without confirming the next steps (replacement of frame and fixing drawer). Horrible experience and complete waste of time. Help needed.

Your technician, Samuel W - technician ID 0858662, was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! I was actually afraid with him in my home. The entire time he was struggling to put the suspension rods on he used profanities and had full on conversations cussing out the machine!! He also banged parts together out of frustration! He DID NOT test my machine before he left! I just tried to use it and now water has flooded all throughout my floors!! That never happened prior to him doing whatever he did wrong!

So far we have had 3 technicians visit, at least 6 canceled appointments (by Sears, not by us), a charge for over $700, a part we paid $50 for that was never installed & we were told by the second technician wasn't needed because the same part came as part of the compressor, and our fridge still doesn't work. This week alone, we have had 3 canceled appointments, including one today after we were texted that the technician was on his way. I have reached out via phone & chat numerous times and all anyone does is schedule another appointment and tell me they've escalated my issue and someone will contact me. No one ever contacts me, including the technicians who keep mysteriously canceling my appointments at the last minute. I understand that when I call or chat online the person on the other end can't do anything but schedule appointments, but I need more help than that. 2/23 That is the phone # I have called at least 8 times & I've used the chat option on the website at least 4 times. All they can do is schedule another appointment. I'm asking that someone who can actually help me please contact me.

My 3rd attempt to get my refrigerator fixed. First person fixed the freezer portion but fridge portion wasn’t cooling or making ice, 2nd guy now has reverted it back to original problem. Whatever was in the freezer portion has melted.and not cooling at all. Making another call again to Sears repair.

Scheduled appt via home warranty for an issue with LG dryer not heating and power shutting down. Technician came and without checking concluded it was an electrical issue. I realized it’s an appliance safety mechanism to restart thermal fuse. Now i have to wait another week to get an appt via home warranty. Very inefficient.
