The service man was good, hence the five stars, but having to pay a fee when I have an appliance policy rubs me the wrong way. For years, service calls were part of the coverage with no more additional charge. Recently, that has changed. My oven had nearly caught fire because a sensor went haywire. I unplugged it and it reset and when tested did not show up as faulty. The electronic board could not be replaced as my range is getting on in age and the part is no longer made. I'll have to take a picture if it tries to catch fire again in order to get the range replaced--which my policy allows for if it can't be repaired. (Who thinks to take photos when you're afraid your house may burn down from an overheating oven?) I doubt I will take out the policy again when mine runs out and I don't intend to buy any more Sears appliances. I have bought from them for over 50 years, but no more.
