A failing board may prevent the oven door latch from engaging, or may cause a chattering or clicking noise from the oven or emit a burning odor. Due to the potential impact on multiple components, it is advisable to have a Sears Home Services professional conduct diagnostic tests on the board to confirm if replacement is necessary.
Igniter Replacement
When an oven igniter is faulty, it can prevent a burner from igniting, resulting in no heat from the bake or broil burners in the oven. A failed igniter could also cause difficulty in lighting the burner, requiring multiple attempts to achieve ignition. The igniter may emit a clicking sound without successfully lighting the gas, indicating a malfunction. In some cases, the igniter may not produce any visible spark at all. An igniter failure can lead to delayed ignition, causing a noticeable delay between turning the knob and the burner lighting.
Control Thermostat Replacement
If the control thermostat in an oven is bad, it may prevent the oven from heating properly or from heating at all, creating the perception of no power to the oven and resulting in an inability to cook food effectively. A faulty thermostat might also hinder the oven's ability to turn off, causing it to run continuously. If you suspect the control thermostat in your oven is bad, have a Sears Home Services professional address the issue and replace the part if necessary.
Why is my Jenn-Air oven not turning on?
A JennAir oven suddenly not getting power could have a tripped house circuit breaker.
Check the house circuit breaker for the oven and reset the breaker if you find it tripped. This may restore power to the oven.
Some ovens have a high-temperature thermostat in the control area that will trip if temperature near the control board reaches 300 degrees or higher. This thermostat will not reset so you’ll need to have the oven repaired when it won’t power up because that thermostat tripped.
A wiring failure in the power supply circuit going to the electronic control board or a defective electronic control board can cause a dead display in an oven.

Why is my oven not heating?
If the display gets power but your oven won’t heat, a power problem, failed electronic control board, defective temperature sensor, wiring failure, bad bake element or tripped safety thermostat could be causing the problem. Also, an error code in the display on the control panel will prevent the oven from working.
For an electric oven that won’t heat, check the house circuit breakers because a tripped circuit breaker can prevent the oven from heating even though the display works.
Check the bake element
Shut off the house circuit breaker for the oven and check the bake element for damage. If the bake element is physically damaged, replace it.
