I have had nothing but trouble with this compactor. It is a piece of trash. It has been repaired and rebuilt. Now I will never buy GE again. I am so glad that I purchased long term repair insurance. It was expensive but in the end it was well worth it. I had 3 appts canceled for this before and I am glad it is finally fixed
