Christopher came in a timely manner. He provided the technical experience requested. Communication skills did not provide the answers we needed but that may be a deficiency on our part and not his. We are still unable to use our oven but understand better than before the limitations of the appliance. We appreciated him coming and doing his best on our behalf. Sears emailed and called to keep us informed as to the progress of our claim. This impressed us as many other service providers do not connect and leave the customer in the dark. Well done!

Montgomery, ALAppointment Communication/Confirmation Challenges
It took Sears three attempts to resolve our issue. Upon the first visit, the technician was here at the appointed time and ordered a part. Steven, our second technician was here twice. He installed the ordered part and the issue was not resolved. He ordered additional parts. Both technicians were courteous; however, diagnosing & resolving the issue took three attempts by Sears service personnel. The major issue is the appointment communication disconnect: Sears schedules the service prior to part arrival, and we later learned, expects the customer to call and verify part(s) have indeed arrived. Seems like Sears, who orders the parts from ZLine, could track the parts. However, if this is the ONLY way for Sears to operate, Sears must provide customers with the means to report receipt of parts. Not knowing this expectation, we waited three days straight for the second appointment-Sears never called/showed and the appointment page reflected that the technician was delayed, and kept rescheduling. Understand, it was not possible to call and report this issue, as the prompts prohibit going directly to an operator. I had to work through New Leaf, who contracts Sears for our extended warranty coverage, to learn that that appointment date was only a "placeholder". Armed with this knowledge, I asked Steven on his first visit, when he made the appointment, if it was firm, irrespective of notifying Sears upon our receipt of the second set of parts ordered. He indicated they allowed two weeks for part arrival and that I would not need to call. I have to say, I wasn't too surprised when Sears didn't show on the appointed predetermined time, which was sent via text notification as confirmed. Again, not possible to reach ANYONE real at Sears, so another half day wasted. No big deal for Sears, but now we are up to 4 days of missed opportunities. Life is short. Please notify customers in writing, your processes and means of communication that satisfy assured appointment times.

Detroit, MIOven repair. Not heating.
Daniel was very professional, arrived promptly within his arrival time communicated. He identified the problem and seemed to have corrected it. When he tested it the oven seemed to heat. But just after he left for the day my wife set it to preheat so she could put our dinner in the oven. The oven did not reach the preheat setting. It only got warm and never got up to temp. So with this evaluation, I am requesting a prompt return visit to fix this problem.

Marc was knowledgeable and quick to diagnose the problem with our stove, which was helpful in making a decision on what to do. The interaction seemed a little awkward as we had to have a friend help us and meet Marc and according to them, it seemed he was reluctant to step foot in the house until she could absolutely confirm payment would be made and then again at the end of the conversation he stated he couldn't go until payment had been made via the link sent to my wife. She was able to make the payment quickly when her friend relayed the situation, but wondered what would have happened if she was not because of an appointment, etc. If this is company policy, you may want to reconsider how this is handled. Paying by a link is pretty standard practice, but the expectation payment will be made at that moment precisely via link is not. Highly suggest allowing techs to take payment directly in the field by credit card if you need payment to be made before leaving the location.

Johnny did a good job fixing my oven. I'm giving 4 stars because upon checking his work, Johnny caused food residue to burn off causing part of my home to fill with smoke. I would've cleaned up any mess had he told me about it before hand.My couches and various items smell like smoke.
