A very dogged attentive and effective technician

The technician was very thorough in his efforts to determine the source of the problem with our appliance. If the part could be located the repair would be simple, however Sears had outsourced the manufacture of their products to China more than 20 years ago, with the assistance of Nixon and Reagan and other republican cohorts. Thus while the elements of the circuit are simple to replace, the part has been out of production for 10 years, and it appears that no one locally is able to replace a single element.

Brian did an outstanding job once he finally got here. The Sears Home Services work request system is not as good as it was when I used it several years ago. When my machine went out over a week ago, I requested repair. The system told me a repairman would be here the next day at a certain time. I waited and the time came and went with no repairman. Your system then sent me a cancellation and said I had to re-submit my request. So I did and it was for a week later. I never received confirmation so a few days later, I called in a request by phone. They said there was no record of me requesting repair so I submitted a request through them. It was for the same day as the old request. Apparently, both requests were valid because I had tracker info on both. Brian showed up and did an excellent job repairing my washer. There was just a lot of anxiety not knowing if a repairman would show up or not like the first time. The system needs tweaked.

Per the website that I made the appointment, it said that the diagnostic fee would be waived if a completed repair was made. The technician told me that was a lie. I also asked multiple people and the AI prior to my appointment if I should tell them what was wrong with the dryer before the technician came to my apartment so it could potentially be fixed same day as the website said to do. The morning that the technician called me I asked him if he wanted to know what was wrong with the dryer, he said no it would be better if he saw it himself. After the diagnostic, he told me it would take 2 weeks to order a new belt for the dryer. Why even put instructions to tell the technician what is going on with the dryer if the technician doesn't want to know before the appointment? Michael was nice, but the whole process seems misleading.

The technician quickly spotted the problem of a bad switch that controlled the washing machine, had replacement on truck and went about installing the part swiftly. Sears has the best appliance technicians we have ever had in the past. We will continue to use their services for all repairs! Joseph and Janice Jackson

Mark. The tech was great. Unfortunately after 3 cancellations (no shows) and having to empty our refrigerator and freezer 24 hrs in advance we were pretty skeptical that this would actually happen. Even so we booked 8 to 12 today and it was pushed to 3:30.

This review has more to do with just not getting my refrigerator fixed than the tech. The tech had a great attitude but he is the 5th tech from Sears to come out and not fix my refrigerator. He installed the parts but left with it not working. It has been over 2 months now and the refrigerator is still not working.

Jose, was great. Unfortunately, my 5 year old fridge that already had a new compressor put on in 2021, couldn't be fixed. Not Jose's fault, but I'm very disappointed in the quality of the product. I will not buy another Kenmore or it's affiliates products again.

The refrigerator repair estimate was very high. I declined it. The repair person told me that he will shut out the water. But the next day I still found some water in the floor and now I am hearing a constant "coughing" from my refrigerator freezer that is super annoying. All that started after the repairman left.

Cost was excessive for the job necessary. Fundamental flaw in the design of the refrigerator. Cost for a simple repair was exorbitant.

Poor install and poor customer relations

Late entry as there have now been 10+ appointments to fix an oven that breaks about every 1-1.5 years. Part was replaced, oven failed, additional part was ordered then not available so tech was scheduled to remove to send in for repair instead of replacement. Tech arrives and determines that prior part was not calibrated on install. Calibration was done oven worked for 1-2 cycles then failed the next day. Appointment set for last Saturday no show no call. Rescheduled for today, tech that did install called to find out what the issue was and decided he does not have experience to fix oven and wants a different tech to look at it rescheduled for Monday. Same tech claims I am taking my frustration out on him when I have repeatedly asked for supervisor information to express frustration in the situation of multiple service calls, his incorrect or in the least incomplete install. I expressed that I understand this is not an individual issue but the oversight is atrocious, and customer service even worse. I also expressed that any technician seeking a fix to a car or appliance that has had 10-12 appointments scheduled and rescheduled or ineffective fix would equally be frustrated.
