The technician, William, was prompt, friendly, and professional. No issues there. The main issue I had was with the fact that the part needed to repair the appliance was no longer made. The freezer was bought 2-3 years ago, so it isn't too incredibly old. I provided the model number and serial number of the unit, so I feel I should be informed prior to the visit that the appliance may not be able to be repaired if the part needed was one of the discontinued units. I had already troubleshot the issue and narrowed it down to the compressor or main board. Since the main PCB was faulty, I'm left paying for the visit and the freezer is still not working. I wasn't aware that this outcome was even a possibility. That said, the overall experience wasn't terrible, which is why Im not leaving one star. Setting up the appointment was easy, there was plenty of communication (automated) from the company, and the technician experience was positive. More transparency about discontinued units should be divulge so that informed decisions can be made by the consumer.

The Service man was prompt, and friendly and knowledgable but Sears bids on repair are out of touch with reality. It will be a better to buy a new one than to try and repair this dryer with those prices Extremely disappointing

Do NOT use sears home services for ANYTHING. I have a warranty on my dishwasher through assurant, they contracted sears home services to fix my dishwasher. First off the “technician” that came out 10/18, didn’t do ANYTHING. He took a picture of the model number, didn’t look at the dish washer, didn’t try to turn it on to see what the issue was, literally didn’t TOUCH it, and ordered parts. How can you know what parts you need, if you don’t know what’s wrong with the dishwasher. He scheduled the repair for NOVEMBER 8th. Three weeks later?! But then said the parts would be shipped to my house, and I could call and get an earlier date once they both came in. So I did that. The parts came in 2 weeks ago now. I called and scheduled an appointment, the window for the tech to come out was 8-5. So I have to wait around ALL DAY. At 4pm, I got an automated text saying my appointment was rescheduled due to not having my parts. That I had. So I call the 800 number explain, and they schedule me for Halloween. I wait around ALL day for the appointment to be canceled for the same reason. So I call the 800 number again to complain. They make me read them the part numbers that I have received. I do that, she says okay, that’s right, and schedules me for the next day. 11/1 it gets cancelled at 8 am. I call and talk to multiple representatives, explain the whole thing over and over again. They try to say okay he can come Monday. No. I had an appointment for today. I want my appointment for today . I speak to a supervisor. They say okay he will be there today, he will call you when he is headed your way. I never get a call. So I call at 4 , again I call and make complaints and explain the situation AGAIN, and verify parts AGAIN. So they schedule me for today. 8 am I get a text saying “per your request your appointment is rescheduled for 11/8. NEXT THURSDAY. 4 weeks since my dishwasher quit working. So I call again, and they schedule me for Tuesday. DO NOT USE SEARS HOME SERVICES.
