Please Note - Micah P is a legend and is due 5 stars for his work. Sears Appliance Repair is a 0 star for their part price and labour price for replacing a fan in our 22 year old Kenmore Elite Garage Freezer. I’m giving a 1 star rating so that this review properly reflects my opinion of Sears Appliance Repair - and not the tech, Micah. Details follow … Micah was able to quickly diagnose the problem of a broken fan for our 2002 era Kenmore Elite Garage Freezer; and had us back up and cooling down (from 85f inside the Freezer to 24f in 15-20 min.). We’ve since taken her off quick freeze and have begun restoring our frozen goods back; and she is now at 32f and humming smoothly. Micah did a thorough job diagnosing and fixing the broken fan problem. My only feedback is to the Sears4MyHome / Sears Appliance Repair team of having a huge rate of $450.52 of Labour for replacing an easily accessible fan. (I watched as Micah removed the 6 or so screws and simply replaced the fan in 3 min!) And the price of the part $234! Vs what was shown on the Sears Repair site of $106. I ended up paying $675 for what was a basic fan replacement. I asked about at least price matching their own website for the part price (could not do it); or if there was a seniors discount / veterans discount (nada). Micah mentioned other customers had also inquired about providing a veteran or senior citizen discounted rate - but it’s fallen on deaf ears. Although the repair wasn’t urgent (we had safely moved all items from the freezer to our main fridge/freezer); due to Micah’s professionalism and transparency with the fault (just a dead fan on a 22 year old garage freezer); I authorized him to proceed with the repair at the price his iPad based system calculated. I could have been “evil” and told him to not fix the fan; and just pay the $119 diagnosis fee; then order the $106 part and do the same install as him - saving me over $500 in unplanned expenses. But I didn’t - again - only due to Micah’s professionalism, skill and expertise on the freezer is what guided me to complete the service call and pay the nearly $700 repair bill. (Considering similar NEW Garage Freezers sell for $499-699 at Best Buy - that was a tough bill to pay for my 22 year old KenmoreGarage Freezer.) And there’s apparently just a 30 day warranty on the parts/labour.. whereas I would get a 24 month in home warranty as part of the selling price at Beat Buy for a new Freezer. The more I write this review - the more I feel upset at the part prices and labour rates that Sears is charging for this service call. Kudos to Micha - a 5 star rating. Bad / Thumbs down (0 star rating) to Sears / My Home Repair Service.

Technician seems to had no interest in understanding the issue with the appliance. He had no knowledge and had no idea what could be wrong with it and what could be done about it. He had no suggestion, whatsoever, to resolve the issue.

The technician was great!!!. Your means of communicating with the customer leaves a lot to be desired. It is absolutely impossible to talk with a live person. There was an issue with the technician not being able to come to the appointment and I received no communication that there was an issue. I waited an entire day for the technician. No show and no communication from you whatsoever. All phone numbers circled back to your automated system. There was no way to even communicate with it other than changing an appointment date. I had to reschedule for two days later. I had already been without my refrigerator over two weeks. Very, very frustrating.

No call no show. Didn’t respond to let us know that they weren’t coming or item wasn’t covered under warranty. They just sent a survey asking how the service was. We didn’t receive any service at all.
