Troubleshooting the problem was essentially non-existent. The problem was that the touch-pad was not responding to touch. At no time was the touch-pad looked at as the problem! Replacing two other non-related parts put the total over the allowed insurance allotment resulting in cancelling of the repair. I now have a broken refrigerator and a cancelled insurance remedy. Fixing this will be about $800.00 - out-of-pocket!
msgtlaskey U,
Extremely Frustrating Experience with Sears Home Services I rarely leave negative reviews, but after nearly three months of waiting for our refrigerator to be repaired, I feel others should know what to expect. To be clear, the service technicians have been excellent. Every technician who has come to our home has been professional, courteous, and has genuinely tried to fix the problem. Unfortunately, the issue isn't with the technicians—it's with Sears Home Services' customer service and support system. Over the past three months, we've had eight service calls, and multiple parts have been replaced, yet our refrigerator still isn't repaired. While that's disappointing, the most frustrating part has been the complete inability to communicate with an actual person at Sears Home Services. Their AI customer service can only schedule appointments. That's it. If you have any issue that falls outside of scheduling, there appears to be no way to speak with a live representative. Calling the customer service number or using the online chat simply leads you through the same five automated options. If your situation doesn't fit one of those options, you're stuck. For example, on three separate occasions, a required repair part had not arrived before the scheduled service appointment. There was no way to notify Sears that the part hadn't been delivered. We were told their AI system is supposed to monitor shipments and automatically reschedule appointments if necessary, but it failed to do so every time. As a result, technicians arrived with nothing they could do, wasting both their time and ours. During the most recent visit, I asked the technician if he could provide me with a phone number or contact information for someone within the company. He told me he couldn't. He even said he hasn't spoken to an actual person at Sears Home Services in over five years because he also has to communicate through the same AI system. I asked if he had a supervisor or manager he could contact, and he said he did not. Whether that's literally true or simply reflects how isolated their field technicians are, it says a great deal about how the company operates. Technology and AI can certainly improve customer service when used appropriately. However, eliminating any meaningful way for customers—or apparently even employees—to communicate with a real person creates an incredibly frustrating experience when something goes wrong. If your repair is simple and everything goes according to plan, you may never notice a problem. But if anything unexpected happens—parts are delayed, appointments need to be adjusted, or you have a question that isn't one of the five automated options—you may find yourself with no way to resolve the issue. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Sears Home Services. The technicians deserve credit for their professionalism, but the company's lack of accessible customer support has turned what should have been a straightforward appliance repair into a months-long ordeal.

Technician had no idea how to fix refrigerator. He kept going back to his truck and consulting the Internet for information on how to fix it. That was after their third trip out to our house. Ultimately, we got a partial refund only and had to call another company out to actually do the repair work. Very disappointed.

He left 2 small screws that go to the dryer somewhere. Didn't know anything about nor has ever worked on a heat pump dryer so he had to call whirlpool to get assistance. He then tells us that we are to spray air into the bottom filter area since we have two different lint filter traps. I asked, where would all that stuff go, back into the drum or other components, he said he had no clue. Problem still not fixed as in taking longer than normal to dry cloths.

Recieved a email stating Tech was on his way. Then got a text asking about my experience. Technician never showed up even after we took time from work. And the form I was supposed to have signed is not my signature. Very poor service.

You need to refund my money. It took 2 weeks to get the man out to fix my freezer and by then he said it had set too long and could not be fixed. I am now here with parts I also paid for, and had to buy a new freezer. It cost me 700 dollars for nothing. I could not talk to a human, no phone number except automated, and this is poor business. I am 94 years old and this is disgraceful. The 2nd technician said you would refund my money since it took so long for him to get here, it was not my fault. Are you going to refund my money, or is this the way you treat all your customers? I would appreciate you contacting me.
