Tech promptly started maintenance check on my appliance. He has serviced my refrigerator for years and knew what needed done. My 20 year old Kenmore Elite is cold, making ice cubes again. Rod the tech was friendly, polite and courteous.

Setting up the service appointment was very easy online with the chat. However, it was difficult to communicate to change the contact phone number. Professional tech was very efficient and explain the problem and the options for repair clearly.

My grandparents are 79 and 80 years old. They bought the home warranty for appliances. They contacted Sears in June because their dryer broke. Then a couple weeks later their washer broke. Sears would set up an appointment to have it fixed, they would sit at home from 8am-5pm and no one would show up. This happened multiple times. After the first time it happened, they would call in the afternoon to verify someone was coming and were told yes, just for no one to show. They would call in the evening and be told by someone else that there was no appointment. My 79 year old grandmother has been dragging her laundry down stairs and into her car, driving 10 miles into town, paying to do her laundry, sitting in an uncomfortable chair at the laundry mat to wait for it all be done, then driving back and having to lug it up the stairs into the house MULTIPLE times a week. This has been going on since JUNE. She has been told they will give her money towards her laundry mat fees and has received nothing. Sears has no problem charging them the monthly fee for this service they fail to provide to them. Not to mention they are already on a fixed low income. This has been nothing but elderly abuse in my opinion. Good luck talking to anyone in charge because no one knows what’s going on. They will just transfer you a million times until you are disconnected. Our lawyer wants a copy of the warranty, no one has been able to provide that either after being told multiple times they would send it. Overall this has been a very sickening experience.
