Good tech, awful company- Somehow my Lowes repair contract ended up with Sear's. I had 3 appointments set up and each time Sear's was a no show, even though I would repeatedly receive text and email reminders about the appt. Several days off of work for nothing! And don't even think about calling them because it's next to impossible to actually speak to someone. My repair request was made in August '24. I had an appt for September-no show. They rescheduled to October-again, no show. I was able to reschedule for November and got a message, again no show! When I texted asking if anyone was comings got a reply saying they didnt have a qualified tech for the job and I would be notified when they did. Suddenly, in December I got a notification of an appointment time. I ignored it because honestly I thought no one would show. Tech showed up and stated that it was the transmission of the washing machine and would be very costly. He said he was writing it up as a loss because the cost far outweighed the value of the machine. As of today, I have no response from Sear's nor Lowe's about this and I am stuck with a machine that barely works because it bounces and knocks all over the place. Ive been going to the laundromat and probably could have actually purchased a new machine with what Ive spent. Lesson learned, I will not be doing business with Lowe's since they farm work out to Sear's repair and I will not do purchase from anywhere that will send Sear's service. Just horrible!

The second technician that came to repair my range was great and deserves 5 stars. He was respectful and courteous. He explained everything to me as he was repairing my stove. I honestly feel bad that he works for such a crappy company. Sears Appliance Repair was horrible and deserves 0 stars. IMPORTANT WARNING DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - I picked Sears because they seemed like they would be a reputable and reliable company for repair of my Frigidaire Gallery range. My first repair appointment was Oct 14th. Before the appointment I provided the make, model and the serial number for my stove as required. The appointment time provided is an entire day 8am - 5pm. I stayed home from work only to have the repair man come mid afternoon walk in say that my stoves issue was exactly what I told them it was when making the appointment. Then he looked up make and model. Which I already provided when making appointment. He told me it would be about $450 to repair the stove and they required 1/2 of that amount or payment in full at that time. He ordered the part which cost $39.95 to be delivered to my house the following week. He also tried to sell me an appliance warranty saying it could save me money. I declined. All of this took about 10 mins total time. The return appointment was scheduled for 11/11 from 8am -5pm. I received at least 6 texts confirming my upcoming appointment including on the morning of the appointment telling me they would be here. I stayed home waiting from 8am on only to receive a call at 1:05 pm that they would not be coming and they had to reschedule to 11/25. More time off from work required. 11/25 appointment date arrives, same scenario. Multiple texts and confirmations including one on the morning of the appointment. Then I receive a call at 11 am stating the technician would not be coming and the next available appointment December 9th. I lost my mind and was told that they would escalate my case and a Manager would call me back within 30 to 90 minutes. Guess what? No call. So 3 hours later I call customer service and was told the floor manager was not available at the moment but he would call me back and again no return call. The next morning I received a text at 7am saying I have an appointment that day from 8am - 5pm. No call from anyone to ask if the date was ok with me. Just a random text. So now more time off from work. Finally the tech arrived at 5pm to fix my stove and for that I was grateful as Thanksgiving is in 2 days. When it came time to pay the balance of my bill it was about $50 more than the estimate they had me sign in October. I showed the estimate to the technician and he honored the price originally given to me. This whole situation is utterly ridiculous considering it started in October and they made me pay $242 upfront (half the cost of the repair estimate) at that time. The irony about all of this is that if I wasn't home for my scheduled appointment they would charge me for the techs time but have no problem repeatedly waiting until you are hours into a confirmed scheduled appointment to call and say they wont be coming. Why is my time less valuable than their company's? Why is it acceptable practice to constantly reschedule hours into a confirmed appointment? AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED WITH ANY COMPANY IN MY LIFE

Second post update This a lousy service. Stay away. Better to replace the appliance than count on Sears to do proper repairs or keep appointments. First post So far it's working but the tech left all of the GARBAGE BEHIND LIKE ALL OF THE OLD WIRES AND OLD COMPRESSOR. SEARS DOESN'T HAVE A RECYCLING PROGRAM. FOR WHAT THIS COST ME I EXPECT A CLEAN UP I PAID AN EXTRA $54 DOLLARS FOR HIM TO "CLEAN UP" AND HE LEAVES THE GARBAGE. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED IT WAS TERRIBLE SERVICE. YOU NEED TO GET YOUR TECH ACT TOGETHER

They also scammed me again today. The made an appt in the system without my acknowledgement for today. The technician Joseph D. ID#0009001 put in a service order as if they came to my house and did the repair this end up cancelling my order.

What a scam!! It would cost over 700.00 put a timer in my dryer. Or I could sign up for their home coverage program for 70.00 a month then it I will only cost 320.00 to fix the dryer. Oh and the 149.99 diagnostic charge is really 160.92. This company should be turned into the better business bureau for false advertising!!!DON’T USE THEM ……
Wendy F,
Did not show up my washer has not worked since October.
