The Sears Home Service technician was very helpful and answered my questions and concerns. The only issue was the original scheduled service appointment for the repair was not performed on that date and the initial rescheduled appointment didn’t work for my schedule. There was lack of follow up by Sears customer service to find a mutually acceptable date for the repair service. It was over a week before the technician was available to provide the repair to my washer. The technician said the original repair order was closed out and appeared to be completed which it wasn’t. There also was an issue with the replacement part, which was delivered to my residence as scheduled but Sears had no record of it being delivered. Sears customer service and communication needs better response for their customers to get the service they need in a timely manner with out going in circles with their text , phone and internet options.
Victor S,
Customer service response - Thank you for your detailed feedback, Victor. We're glad to hear the technician was helpful, but we apologize for the scheduling and communication issues you encountered.

My experience with Sears has been interesting to say the least! My washer was in need of repairs so I contacted Sears ! They had a technician come to my home and diagnosed my washer! All good and well till I kept getting postponed for the technician to come in and repair my washer ! This has gone on for several weeks always telling me they are and only to get a request to reschedule the technician! This has been since the beginning of May 2026! I ended up calling a local repair man who checked out my washer and told me the part that was ordered wasn’t the one that was causing the issue for my washer! I was also advised that it would be cheaper to replace my washer! I have since replaced my washer and today an actual technician showed up at my door! The technician Tremaine today went above and beyond ! I explained the nightmare I was going thru with Sears and having to replace my washing machine! He listened to what I had to say and he processed a partial refund minus the service fee! I used Sears because I trusted the brand! However after all these weeks of no shows and not being able to speak to a real person I will think before I contact them again! Tremaine went above and beyond today ! He listened to everything I had to say and did put in for a partial refund! Also buyer beware you can never get a real person on the phone it’s all AI! Think before you chose who to come and repair your appliances! As for Tremaine , Sears needs more Technicians Like Him! He went above and beyond to listen to me and get my refund issued! Sears DROP your AI nonsense and go back to the HUMAN CONNECTION!! Thank You Tremaine !!!
Jen G,

Unfortunately, it would have taken a month to get my dryer fixed. My appointment kept getting delayed week after week. I finally got someone else to fix it immediately. So I don't blame Darius, I blame Sears
Adelaide G,
Customer service response - We apologize for the repeated delays, Adelaide. We appreciate your feedback and are glad you found a solution, but we're sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Sears repair tech, Edward, seemed friendly and appeared to be experienced, but he wore no mask or shoe coverings. His heavy open mouthed breathing, which appeared to be due to his weight, concerned me. He identified the problem with our dishwasher immediately and ordered the replacement part. He returned the next week and before he started, I asked if he needed the water shut off in the basement. He said it was already off, which it was. When he unhooked the dishwasher hose water began pouring out and he didn’t know what to do. He was laying on the floor and had a very difficult time maneuvering. I asked again if the valve needed to be shut and he said yes. I ran to the basement where water was pouring down from the kitchen and turned the lever to the opposite position thinking maybe what I thought was “off” was actually “on”. I yelled upstairs asking if the water had stopped and he said no so I turned it back to “off”. When I ran back upstairs he immediately insisted the lever was broken and I needed to call a plumber. I was completely confused. Then he said I had a huge problem and needed a plumber immediately, and he couldn’t complete the repair until a plumber fixed the shut off valve. He kept insisting the valve was broken and his voice got more panicked and insistent each time he said it. He made me extremely anxious because I didn’t know any plumbers so I started calling friends and asked my husband to check on line. None of this made any sense to me so I asked him to clarify why he thought the valve was broken. His tone was a bit defensive and I began to sense he messed up and was trying to deflect blame. I remembered the guys who’ve done repair/reno jobs on our home so I called them and sent pics of the valve. They also thought the valve was fine and a plumber probably wasn’t needed. They came by later and confirmed my suspicion. While I was making phone calls I realized Edward was still working on the dishwasher. When I got off the phone I asked him what was going on and he calmly said it was done. I asked if he meant he was able to fix it he replied yes. Now I was beyond confused and asked if I still needed a plumber. He said yes because the valve is broken. The valve is not broken and my home repair guys confirmed it. It appears to me Edward screwed up when he didn’t prepare for the water remaining in the hose/pipe and instead of admitting his error he blamed the valve. So far the dishwasher is working fine after one cycle, but if I ever need to call for a repair again, I will have to insist on a different tech. Edward may be very good at his job but on this experience alone I cannot take a chance and I definitely cannot recommend him. He almost cost us a very expensive and unnecessary visit from a plumber. Update 1/20/26: The Google response I received from Sears Repair Services was complete BS. They included a number to call for additional service to resolve the issue which connects you to the same Repair Services. No sincerity in that “apology”. All AI generated anyway, I’m sure.

It would not drain, he looked at it for 45 minutes. After he left, I cleaned the drain filter and it works.
tim B,
This is basically a Sears scam. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES. The technician showed up very late in the day with clearly no intention of fixing (there's no portal where you can describe the specific error code or problem so that the repair person is actually prepared ahead of time) and then gave me a wildly overpriced quote - a quote hundreds of dollars more than the value of our broken washing machine. For this I had to spend $140. This is a complete and total scam and they should refund me the 'diagnostic' $ amount.
