Mark was quick and friendly. He did take the time to run my washer on a few cycles just to make sure it was perfect. I really appreciated the extra steps he took to make sure there were no issues.

Mark is a true technician, able and willing to diagnose and repair vs. a "parts changer" receiving instructions through their ear piece. When Mark called, asked what happened, I explained, REALLY large metal bang sound, I found water spreading all over the floor. The hoses were all intact. I shut down the washer and started soak up water. I also made sure to clear everything out of the laundry area and off the machine so the repair person would have clean unobstructed safe for work. Initial thought, cracked tub - in which case the machine is not repairable. OK, I thought, I still would like to know. I understood the $149.00 diagnostic fee if I chose not to repair. If I repair, the diagnostic fee is waived. Mark was courteous, polite, and respectful of me and my home. It was raining, he wiped his feet on the mat, his work tools and personal protective equipment are maintained in a professional manner. Mark shop vac'd the water out of the washing machine - and made sure to ask about an appropriate place to empty. He got down to taking the machine apart, and well figured out that the pump chase cracked, and the (I may not get the technical term correct, but I understood his explanation using a motor vehicle shock absorber/A Arm assembly analogy for the second broken part - that explained why the washer would "walk" in the spin cycle). The cost of the parts and repairs, would come out to more than a new washer. This washer came with the house, and served over 20 years. Mark put everything back together, made sure his work area was clean and put back correctly. I learned and integrated new knowledge...(the cracked pump case was probably leaking water, which is why despite multiple rounds of cleaning, vinegar, bleach, scrubbing I could not get the smell to leave.) When you call the SEARS number and speak to "AI Samantha" it's a little strange, the long pauses as it thinks through what you say. At first you will get an 8:00am-5:00 pm window for the Service appointment, the day of your appointment, you will get a text message from the system that tells you an approximate time for your appointment. Once the service person is on the way, you can get more detailed information on their arrival - so you are not required to spend the entire day tethered to your house worrying if you need to walk your dog, that you will miss your appointment and get sent back to the beginning of the line.
