I would give 0 stars if possible. I asked sears to investigate a noise my fridge was making. The refrigerator technician showed up 3 hours late, was present less than 5 minutes (During which time the fridge did not make this noise). He only looked at the serial number of the fridge and otherwise did not inspect the fridge. He then proceeded to jot down a list of parts so expensive they cost more than the fridge and stated he didn't recommend repairing it. He did not actually inspect the refrigerator. He, a very large man alone with my wife, then refused to leave until she provided her with a credit card payment. When I called to complain, Sears refused to say that this service and charge was anything but appropriate. They would not second a second technician to inspect the fridge without me paying a second diagnostic fee, despite the fact that no diagnostic assessment was ever performed. I was passed back and forth on a phone tree for several hours with promises being made for a refund and then was transferred to someone who said they could not honor the promises just made to me. This once great name in appliances and home services now seems to be entirely outsourced and only interested in extracting service fees without providing any customer service whatsoever. They also have no interest in service recovery. Do not use Sears unless you are interested in being defrauded.

I’m leaving this negative review due to an incredibly frustrating and unprofessional experience with Sears and the technician who visited today. I’ve been dealing with an unresolved issue with my stove under the Sears warranty for over two months. The first technician said a part needed to be ordered, and I’ve been going back and forth with various departments ever since. For the past three weeks, I’ve been told by the warranty department that the stove would be replaced, and I’ve been waiting for a replacement code. Today, the technician called unexpectedly, asking about parts he wasn’t even sure had arrived. After I clarified and showed him the parts were there, he contradicted himself multiple times—claiming he didn’t know about the replacement process but also saying replacements would take over six months, which is not what I was told when I signed up for this warranty. When he arrived, he said the oven should not have been turned on because I “should have known” about the appointment. This made no sense, as I’ve been told for weeks that the replacement process was underway, and when I called Sears earlier today, the system didn’t even recognize any current appointments. What made this worse was how dismissive he was about the ongoing replacement process. Instead of acknowledging the months of frustration I’ve endured or attempting to resolve the issue, he quickly told me I would need to call Sears again and request a new service appointment. He showed no concern for the fact that I’ve been dealing with this for over two months, minimizing or outright dismissing the replacement process that has already been escalated by the warranty department. His attitude was unprofessional and showed a lack of care for the customer. He was argumentative and dismissive when I explained the confusion, blaming me instead of addressing the lack of communication between Sears and their technicians. He ultimately refused to replace the part, citing that the oven was used, despite the first technician confirming the issue months ago. He seemed more focused on getting in and out than resolving the problem. This experience has been exhausting and unacceptable. Sears’ communication and service have been abysmal, with conflicting information and no resolution after months of paying for this warranty. I’m extremely disappointed and cannot recommend this service.

Paid for a technician to come to house to look at our dryer which ran and would stop. I suspected a bad belt. The guy comes within 15 minutes and says I need a new motor and with parts and labor would cost over $700! Charged me $129 for the visit. Two days later we looked at the dryer again removed the back and cleaned out the dust and lint and the dryer works good as new. they would not offer refund for a service they did not provide.

Luis M. never showed up to the scheduled time of 8 am to 12 noon. He then emailed me that the service was performed 1 - 5 pm and fraudulently signed the paid receipt. I’m outraged at Sears and their protection plan team. I’m considering canceling my service contract with Sears and finding another company.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Not only the technician diagnosed the problem wrong and could not fix the problem (after collecting more then $500) I am still waiting for the refund. I called the costumer service more then 10 times in the last 3 month and all they do is give you the “runaround”. No one to actually do anything except apologize over and over again. I am confident that if they choose to respond to this review it will be to apologize again and give me the same phone number I have been calling for month What ever you do - DO NOT give these people your money
