Honest effort
Our Kenmore Elite refrigerator (actually manufactured by LG for Sears) started to slowly increase the temperature in both compartments. We suspected a coolant leak. Jim had attended to a compressor replacement last October, so we thought maybe a connection wasn't holding. In any case, Jim returned yesterday to inform us that after a detailed inspection that there was a coolant leak, but it was not connected to the previous service. He surmised that the leak was a coil issue or located somewhere inaccessible to repair. Bottomline - we needed a new refrigerator after "only" 8 years of service. We appreciated Jim's honest assessment and his recommendation that a costly coil repair/replacement may not solve the problem. We look forward to our new refrigerator arriving tomorrow.

Best Tech at Sears for Fridge Repair
Had 4 service appts for our french door fridge that has a freezer at 25 degrees and a fridge at 42 degrees. James was randomly assigned to our case this last time. He's thorough, friendly, took the time to teach me what he was seeing and what and why he thought the ultimate problem was. He found, drove to get it, replaced the part and tested it all out, again showing me why he believed the problem to be fixed. Wish we could have gotten James from the start so I didn't waste 4 days waiting 8a-5p for Sears techs to show up as they don't give you a time until the morning of and then the appt time can still be moved throughout the day.
