Trevor is a talented repair man. Very knowledgeable and efficient. He is courteous and respectful of the home. My only concern is amount of time we waited. Reported our issue on May 10th. Then first appointment was May21st. Had to order parts then repaired on June3rd. I think that not having a functioning refrigerator for nearly a month when we have an appliance warranty is unacceptable.

The technician who serviced our refrigerator was outstanding—professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He represented the company very well, and he’s the sole reason this review is receiving two stars instead of one. Unfortunately, my overall experience with Sears Home Services was extremely disappointing. Due to their contractual agreement with American Home Shield, Sears was unwilling to consider a replacement even when it was clear that the repair process had become inefficient and impractical. The total cost of parts, the multiple service visits, and the inconvenience of being without a functioning refrigerator for more than three weeks far outweighed the cost of simply replacing the unit. Efforts to contact Sears directly for assistance were equally frustrating. The automated system made it impossible to reach a live representative, leaving no avenue for meaningful communication or escalation. American Home Shield was also unable to intervene, though that issue is separate. During the three-week period, our household incurred additional expenses for food storage and replacement, as well as missed work time to accommodate repeated service appointments. Ultimately, we were left waiting weeks for a 20+ year-old refrigerator to be repaired—after multiple delays, including an additional broken part discovered mid-process. In summary, while the individual technician did excellent work, the overall handling of this repair by Sears Home Services reflected poor customer support, inflexible policies, and a lack of practical decision-making. A replacement would have been more cost-effective and far less burdensome for everyone involved
