My Sears tech was professional, courteous and efficient and completed the required service during his visit. My only complaint is that the method of scheduling needs to be improved. Even my Cable Company can break down the estimated arrival better than "Between 8AM and 5PM" by the day before the visit. This MUST improve, as many people do not have the option to take an ENTIRE day off to wait for a 10 min evaluation appointment then take ANOTHER ENTIRE day off for the actual repair after parts arrive. Final score: Technician 5 stars, scheduling system 1 star (at best).

I was just overwhelmed with the cost of this repair which when you break it down was a malfunctioning little spring, that according to Pete required a replacement of a $115 part that took all of 15 min. to replace. Final cost $410! As a retired employee I am worried that I will need to find a job to be able to handle costs like this in the future. No, I was not interested in the warranty of for about $60/mo for a year to cover the possibility of something else breaking. This dishwasher was only 5 yrs old. I am aggravated.

I apologize for the technician today checking the brunt of my concerns but I thought he was coming to fix the unit because someone came out 2 weeks ago to diagnose the problem and apparently didn’t do that. The tech today was knowledgeable and explained what he did today but I’m just frustrated because it should have been diagnosed 2 weeks ago.
tirecee W,
Customer service response - We apologize for the frustration with the diagnosis process, Tirecee. Thank you for your feedback, and we're glad the technician was knowledgeable and explained the situation.

My service order number was 000708412623297. Although the technician got the unit working and producing cold air inside, the fan on the exterior unit is now not working/frozen/seized up.
Kolin B,
Customer service response - We apologize for the issue with the exterior unit fan, Kolin. Please contact us directly so we can arrange for a technician to assist you further.

I am not rating the technician himself poorly as I think he was doing his best. They were on time every time they came and polite. The problem is that the dishwasher is still broken after several visits and I have been told to keep scheduling appointments when it stops working again. It stopped working within 4 hours of the tech leaving this time. The power simply shuts off - doesn’t trip the breaker. I can only turn it on by switching the breaker on and off several times. I went immediately to request another visit and am getting charged another 100 dollars when it never got fixed. The unit needs replaced, at this point it has costed me and Sears more meaning than it is worth.
Phil D,
Customer service response - We sincerely apologize for the ongoing issues with your dishwasher and the frustration it has caused. We appreciate your feedback and are looking into a more permanent solution for you.

5 year old Whirlpool refrigerator was not cooling and freezer was not keeping things frozen. I was able to schedule same day service. Tech called when he was on his way. Quickly determined the problem and had it fixed in about an hour or a little more. He didn't even need to de-energize the unit to replace a sensor that was supposed to trigger the defroster coil for the freezer. The part was less than $40. The bill was $265. That's $225 for labor for, we'll give them an hour and a half with travel time. The minimum service charge was $105 had I declined the repair.
