After confirming three times that I would be available, the technician never showed up and has not returned two phone calls since.

Absolute worse company I've dealt with. First they rescheduled me because they needed to order a part (frustrating but understandable), then when the appointment came along and I took off from work all day they realized before showing up that they needed 2 technicians and had to reschedule again. They also give a completely unreasonable arrival time of 8am-5pm with no updates until the technician is on their way over.
Drew S,

I have had terrible experience with Sears. They have cancelled my service appointment on multiple occasions. First was for a heating and cooling issue, they cancelled the appointment without giving me notice and I had to call when the tech didn’t show up that day. The second issue, I’ve been having problems with my refrigerator for over a month now. The tech forged my signature and updated the status like he showed up and he never came to our house, I have video proof that he was never here through my security system. They sent another tech out and he was supposed to come yesterday 3/13/2024 and a day before they called that they need to reschedule for 2 weeks later. They do no care that I cannot use the refrigerator and have been dragging this issue for over a month now. I have ZERO faith in Sears home services and if I could rate them lower I would. I will be reporting to BBB as well.
Miguel H,

My mother is elderly and has trouble setting an alarm clock. When her Maytag TL washer suffered a premature transmission failure, we had difficulty to say the least with getting another one that performed as well. Most of the problems centered around the new washers trying for all they are worth (which isn't vert much) to conserve water. When the mechanical timers of the washers like my mom's old Maytag were replaced by a computer controlled timer, user control of the washer cycles were thrown out with the wash water. What idiot thought it was a good idea to provide a START-PAUSE-CANCEL button BUT NOTHING LIKE a "RESUME CYCLE" button???? What good is trying to conserve water by using it sparingly if the infamous START-PAUSE-CANCEL button wastes a whole load of water plus laundry aids EACH AND EVERY TIME it is used to check on the status of the laundry? Computer controlled dishwashers seem to be able to do this simple thing without a problem. Why can't laundry work the same way? Here is what I suggest: Splurge and install a "RESUME CYCLE" button RIGHT NEXT TO the "START-PAUSE-CANCEL" button for all of these washers. Whenever you push the RESUME button, the timer for the advance cycle function of the washer STOPS and doesn't resume until the RESUME button is pressed again. A flashing light displayed while the washer is paused would be helpful. Pumping all of the water and laundry aids out of the washer is NOT what the function of any control for a washer should be doing. That would be the correct functioning of a button with only one identification: "CANCEL ALL WASH CYCLES". If the chinese engineers designing these things cannot get that basic function right, perhaps appliances should be designed and assembled elsewhere. Thanks to the poor design of these washers, my mom who is 85 will not be able to enjoy wear clean clothes for what is left of her life. If elderly mothers of washing machine engineers in china have to beat their clothes on rocks in a stream to clean them past the age of 90, they are getting better service than this. I can't make this objection any stronger, but as this was the third attempt to get a serviceable washer, all my mom is going to be left with is clothes soaked and washed in a utility sink. I can't even make her understand, and if the washer repairman thinks that she does, he is mistaken.
Daniel S,
One word: Terrible. The replacement ice maker was rebuilt, not new. I could have bought a new one at Amazon for less than $50 and plugged it in myself. The charge for the rebuilt part was $179 and the 10 min to replace it was $220. The technician started boxing up my old ice maker to take back, which I said no to, as they would rebuild it and rip off someone else with it. To top it off, it makes a loud grinding noise while making ice, so I need to take off work yet again, to have the person come back. I want a NEW part, not a rebuilt. Or, I want my money back and I will fix it myself.
Connie R,
This is the last time we will ever sign up for your extended policy plan or buy an appliance from you ever again. Starting with the botched delivery, just how can you misplace a refrigerator at the last minute?! You reschuled our service appointment twice without giving us any other options, and gave us an 8-hour window of time as to when your technician would be arriving. The policy does not include taking an entire day off from work. You gave us a window of time, and then, showed up at a different time. farm out all of your calls to the Phillipines, and each time we had to call the conversations lasted 30-60 minutes. We're sending additional time giving English lessons. Your technician was rude. We have witnesses who knocked on our door when they heard how he spoke to us. They stayed nearby in case we needed their assistance. This technician will never be allowed in our home again. Sears, you are terrible.
