Although I specified the problem (broken upper spray arm) and the dishwasher year/model (2002 Kitchenaid) when I made the appointment, the repairman showed up without the needed parts,. We were charged the initial $60 fee and another $40 for the technician to attempt to fix the spray arm. He told us that for him to replace the part he would need to order the part, and charge us another service fee. Although he attempted to fix the broken sprayer, the 'fix' did not even last one wash cycle. We wasted over $100 and still have a broken dishwasher. Completely unsatisfactory - I will never use Sears appliance repair again.

Sears no longer does repair work on any mowers that are not under warranty. We showed up to pick up our machine expecting it would be repaired, but no one contacted us about the new policy. The manager was rude and did not offer to help out. Go some place else!

Charged $99 to come out and tell me the fridge needed defrosting because the heating coil was bad - He did not check anything in the fridge and told me he could not order the part because Sears did not carry it. On line research shows it could be the defroster heating coil, timer or thermostat - but he did not diagnose any of those items. Also no effort to diagnose or fix a leaking ice maker line... Total waste of $$ and my time dealing with appointment confusion. BTW, they had all the facts - Model and problem description from the phone conversation to set up the appointment so there is no excuse for not having parts - or showing up to tell me they can't get the parts. No wonder Sears is going out of business.

This is my 2nd experience using Sears for the repair and for the same appliance: Kenmore Elite refrigerator. Both experiences have been frustrating. Call to schedule a repair, wait 2 weeks for the technician to come out for a diagnostic, then wait another 1-2 weeks for the parts to arrive and for the repair to be complete. This experience has been even more painful as the technician claimed to complete the repair and within 48 hours the fridge was no longer working! I've since called about this issue twice and the associate/manager claim to have escalated the matter but cannot provide a service date prior to November 17th! Completely ridiculous- no sense of urgency for a job they claimed to have fixed...not to mention the HUGE inconvenience we are going through.

Scheduled a appointment for dishwasher repair & was given the standard window of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. I heard nothing from anyone at Sears all day so, I contacted them at 4:30 & was told the technician was running late & would get to me at 5:15 (after I wasted an entire day waiting & had to go to work at 5:00). No one ever showed up and I STILL haven’t received any notification from Sears! Zero communication! Taking my business elsewhere!

Horrible experience!! Had the appliance repair tech out to a property we manage. They came out and did not call us even though we are supposed to be the point of contact. We were told the dryer vent needed cleaning (although I had personally opened this up and checked it and it was clean). We asked for further information about exactly what needed to be done as the vent was clean, and were told they would get back to us. We never heard back. 3 calls later they resent another tech to visit and diagnose. We were given a Friday appointment, no call, no show, tenant had taken off work to be there. After calling to complain again, we were given a third appointment which was kept and told the dryer vent needed to be cleaned. No call to me, no option to do the repair. When I asked for the estimate to repair, I was told they would have to get yet another tech out to look at it. What a joke. If they are charging a $99 diagnostic fee which is supposed to be applied to the repair but no one contacts the point of contact to do the repair and can't explain what needs to be done, than what is the point of the diagnosis?!?!? On top of all this when I asked to speak with a manager regarding a refund they hung up on me. Great service Sears, I won't be contacting you ever again regarding repairs of any nature. Avoid like the plague!!!
