Dryer service call
Worker didn't clean up the mess from fixing the dryer.

Topeka, KSWasher Repair
Brian did an outstanding job once he finally got here. The Sears Home Services work request system is not as good as it was when I used it several years ago. When my machine went out over a week ago, I requested repair. The system told me a repairman would be here the next day at a certain time. I waited and the time came and went with no repairman. Your system then sent me a cancellation and said I had to re-submit my request. So I did and it was for a week later. I never received confirmation so a few days later, I called in a request by phone. They said there was no record of me requesting repair so I submitted a request through them. It was for the same day as the old request. Apparently, both requests were valid because I had tracker info on both. Brian showed up and did an excellent job repairing my washer. There was just a lot of anxiety not knowing if a repairman would show up or not like the first time. The system needs tweaked.

The notification stated we would received a text or email prior to appointment with more precise time and it stated that personal checks were accepted. The technician did not send any message and stated he would not accept personal checks. He stated there was nothing wrong with the refrigerator after very little diagnostic and left! Nothing was resolved!

Bob did a fine job. He was friendly, efficient, and punctual. Give him an A. HOWEVER, Sears Home Services left much to be desired.. 1. The service call was scheduled from 0800 to 1700, effectively tying us down for 9 hours. Surely service calls can be scheduled with a narrower window; other providers certainly do. 2. I responded to this message: "Please visit your appointment page to add your Model/Serial number. A Sears Virtual Technician may text or call you to discuss the issue with your appliance. Responding will allow your Technician to have what is needed to make a successful repair on the 1st trip to your home." and included an accurate diagnosis of the problem: a broken belt on the tumbler. The technician, nevertheless, showed up with NO parts. Thus we had to wait 5 more days and another 9-hour vigil. On the day scheduled, my wife was to have a medical procedure and I had a meeting scheduled. Our choices were take this date or wait another week. 'Bob' kindly agreed to schedule us as his last call, so we were able to keep our other obligations. 3. The necessary parts, which Bob said he had stocked on his 'regular' truck had to be ordered. For some reason they were delivered to us rather than the technician, so I became responsible for tracking them and making them available for your technician. One part arrived literally minutes before your technician and only because I chose to forego some important errands in order to come home and check the postal box. Had the part not arrived, we might have waited a second week for a simple repair - one which I have done in my younger days. 3. Once the service was scheduled, we were flooded with notices, multiple robo phone calls, text messages, and e-mails. One reminder a day or two before the service would have been sufficient. In summary: an A for Bob; D- for Sears Home Service.

Didn't want to be here
Larry was ready to leave before he even arrived . He left his van running in my driveway and assured me the repair would be finished before I needed to leave in 25 minutes. He admitted he didn't know the task he was sent to complete when I asked how long he would need. He gouged my vinyl floors with the feet of the built-in oven trying to move it by himself and proceeded to scold me loudly when he shocked himself trying the remove the burner assembly. Larry claimed we should have had the power to the unit shut off or had it unplugged when he arrived . I explained I wasn't notified of this and have never been told that in previous repairs. He needed another person (my husband or me) to hold the stovetop in order to install and uninstall the burner assembly and had us going up and down the stairs to open and close off the breakers. He was disorganized in returning the unit to finished assembly , didn't check some of the wire connections until I noticed they were hanging loose, and didn't even turn the newly replaced burner on to check it for function before he signed on a line for me . When I asked he said I didn't need to sign anything. I've never had a Sears technician like this before and I've always purchased through Sears with extended warranties. Losing Sears I'm Topeka was a sad time for me

Refrigerator Icemaker Service
This contract with Sears has contracted with a Company that does not honor the contract. We've dealt with a bad icemaker for over a year. The repairman never shows up and we are never let know that he isn't coming. No communication with this Company at all! I have made multiple complaints with them about the lack of service. The repairman today was supposed to be here last Saturday. He personally gave us this appointment date. He never showed up. No one told us. He said today that he was sick last week. I told him no one notified us that he wasn't coming. This has been happening for years. I'm at the point of filing a complaint with the Kansas Attorney General.

Rushed and Unprofessional
I was very disappointed with this service visit. The technician stated the only way to access the faulty part was to pull the entire dishwasher out. However, after removing the front panel, he showed me the part that needed replacing, making it clear it was visible and accessible from the front. He then said he could not reach it and showed me that one of his hands was in a brace and that he was off work due tonsurgery for several months. Rather than attempting to proceed or allowing time to pull the dishwasher out as he suggested, he declined to continue. He was in my home for less than 20 minutes and ras he was leaving, mentioned he had four more calls within the next two hours. He instructed me to call and reschedule once the dishwasher was pulled out. After further review, it became clear the dishwasher did not need to be removed to complete the repair. Once he decided not to move forward, his demeanor became dismissive and he left quickly. This experience felt rushed and unprofessional.

No ice….
Minh replaced the ice maker in my fridge. It is still not making ice. Sunday night, the water dispenser stopped working also. I unplugged the fridge for 10 minutes to reset it. After that, the water worked again. But still no ice. So, he fixed nothing. I still have the same problem.
