Repair tech, Vince V., was really great. When I first called about my Kenmore smooth top stove, i was told a new burner will be shipped to me and my problem would be fixed after I INSTALL IT. i thought that was strange since i reveived no instruction mannual. The guy jusy said it was an easy fix. I can see if i had a regular coil burned just unplug and plug in new one but that wasn't the case. At the Sears stire store i was told to call customer service again and tell them what happened because i should not be trying to do my own repair. The 2nd time i called parts/repair, they told me they would order the part and i can install it myself again. When questioned, he said if I want to have a technician come out he can set up the appointment but it wasn't necessary, that i can do it myself. If this is how the warranty service is now, i don't think i want to purchase the extended warranty. Appointment day came, part did not arrive tech was surprised that i was told to fix this myself. He had the CORRECT part in his van, which was actually a switch not a burner. He said there was no way i could've done it myself even with someone to talk me through it.
