I have much to say about my current experience with Sears Warranty repair. At the moment I cannot rate the technician because he just left and I do not know yet how well he did his job. I will revisit in a couple of weeks once my refrigerator has been working for a couple of weeks. What I would like to rate aside from the technician’s work today is Sears Home Services. My refrigerator was purchased in 2017 along with the whole package of range, microwave, and dishwasher. They are the Kenmore Elite Series. I paid more than $5000 back then to purchase the package. Since making my purchase, I have had the refrigerator compressor replaced twice. The first time was in April/2021. The original compressor lasted 4 yrs and the 1st compressor replacement lasted 5 yrs. This 2nd replacement was a total nightmare under a Sears warranty plan. After the 1st compressor replacement, I felt the need to be safe verses sorry in case of another breakdown. I felt that my piece of mind was more important to me than the $2100 cost to purchase a Sears warranty plan just in case I needed it again. To my surprise I received an abundance of delays. The wrong techs were sent that do not work under a warranty (3 different times) and then the first tech that did come (under warranty) diagnosed the problem but never returned. I had to start all over again after waiting 10 days because I was told the compressor had to be ordered. If I would not have called back to complain about the delay, God only knows how much longer I would have had to wait. In addition, I never spoke with a person on the other line. My only communication was with AI. They were the ones that sent the wrong tech on (3) different occasions. Those technicians came with the intention that I was going to pay for a diagnostic fee of $129 up front before touching the refrigerator. Then I would have to wait again for over a week each time before another tech was sent. My initial call to make the claim was on April 17th. Today, May 25th, I finally had the compressor replaced on my refrigerator under a Sears warranty plan. All this time I had to fend for myself how I was going to plan and prepare my meals without a refrigerator. All the meats in my freezer thawed out and spoiled. I decided I was not going to risk food poisoning so I did not keep the items in the refrigerator compartment as well. I am a reasonable person and in my opinion I was very patient despite all the errors and time it took from my work schedule to be at home, all day, waiting for the wrong person to show up. This AI business does NOT work! It does not put customers first. It does not care how long you wait before they get the correct people to your home, they are not people with feelings of compassion; much less any clue of what customer service really is. The name Sears meant something 10 yrs ago. It was a top notch appliance company. Now their name has nothing to do with being of service to their customers. It took (6) separate visits to my home and 39 days for me to get my refrigerator’s compressor replaced for a 2nd time in (9) yrs. You tell me how well Sears stacks up to putting customers 1st? I do not blame the techs because some of them apologized for the delays and said that all they do is follow the daily work schedule they are given by AI. In this day and age, when companies are going out of business because of our current financial crisis, every consumer is important to a company’s future success. Your profits are based on how well you service your customers. Throughout history that fact has never changed. As a company, be careful if you choose to use AI to cut corners and save money. It will cost you in the long run.

The repair technician Tam is 5 stars. The company he works for is 1 star. They only use AI and any of your questions are never answered. The repair window is 8am -5pm. On our particular case Tam arrived at 1904 to replace the ice maker. If I need repairs again I will request that assurance sends Bodwell and nor Sears.

After 5 service calls they were able to repair our diswasher. John the tech was great but the scheduling system sears uses is really bad. we had a helper showing up early and n tech at the job yet. we were rescheduled 4 times before the job was completed

Polite and well groomed. Completed the annual checkup of the furnace quickly. To get to the furnace he moved my plastic waste basket and small grocery cart, but didn't put them back in place when he left. He changed my thermostat from my Program to Automatic so he could test the furnace heat but he left the heat running and I had to put the thermostat back to my Program.

Tam did a great job in and out in less than .5 hr. But the wait time was terrible 3+ weeks and the communication was as bad.

The initial diagnostic went well, technician called before arriving and was very helpful. After a part was ordered and PREPAID: 3 of the 4 scheduled appointments for repair were no call/no show that I had to plan around the large time windows to make sure someone was available. The one that did show up did not call beforehand so my father did not know to be in from backyard work and did not hear technician ringing. No communication as when and where the ordered part was to arrive. Most customer service was robotic and completely unhelpful. I am willing to pay for initial diagnostic, but want a refund on the rest! I will never go through this service again.

Still never saw anyone nor got anything fixed … can’t call or talk to anyone but keep getting charged and this a company that CHOICE HOME WARRANTY keeps sending out .. absolute fraud…
