Very Competent Technician; SHS not so much.
this was a repeat visit. The freezer section of my three door refrigerator stopped freezing. This happened two months ago and the technician who arrived back in August cleaned off some coils and declared everything OK. A couple of days ago the freezer made loud noises for a day and then stopped working. I've only lost about $60 worth of food, currently keeping the rest of the freezer contents in the cooler. Here's my issue: the very nice technician who arrived today assessed the issue for less than 10 minutes and explained that the coils on the bottom of the fridge need to be replaced. They are no longer made and Sears will need to "research" finding the parts probably from Asia, and it may take weeks. Besides the fact that we already had this problem once and they failed to correctly ascertain the source of the issue, it's seems unreasonable to have to wait weeks for a repair of an appliance that is used daily. (Not for nothing-I only need something to chill and freeze my food, not a fancy digital anything just a plain old refrigerator, which I gotta believe is not much more expensive than finding and shipping this part from across the globe). So yeah, the technician was satisfactory, but the overall service of this company is severely lacking. Why have I paid almost $800 only to suspend my ability to maintain perishable groceries? Do better Sears.
