Technician diagnosed the problem. Contacted the AHS and we were told that since the fridge is under warranty we need to contact LG, otherwise we have to pay for the repair.

I got a same-day appointment which is very rare and I was late getting home and he waited a few minutes for me. Luckily, it wasn't too much of a major issue with the refrigerator lighting, which I was hoping. Unfortunately, I still have to get them to look at the washing machine, and that's probably gonna be a big bigger deal.
