Not the best experience
Not personable. Very adamant and accusatory. Not the best experience I've had with a repair service. If I can choose he wouldn't be welcomed back.

TERMINOLOGY!!!
The technician's diagnosis determined whether or not the warranty company covered by claim. Because the technician reported that the broiler temperature "was not normal" and caused the control panel on my stove to shut down, my claim is denied!!! I am sorely disappointed that someone who claimed to have 30-years of experience in the appliance business, would make such a blunder :-(, when during his visit he indicated that a new control board and/or transformer was needed?!?!?!?! If/when we purchase another applicance IT WILL NOT BE A Whirlpool brand.

Would not recommend
Technician attempted to charge more than he originally quoted so I opted for the diagnostic fee only. He was pushy trying to get me to purchase a part through him which was $60 more expensive than the the list price on Sears parts direct.

Frustrated
The cost of the repair was over $900 for an older oven. When I asked the repairman about the cost of a new oven he said he couldn't help me. He referred me to look at ovens online. I asked if the cost of the diagnostic visit would be taken off the cost of a new oven if I selected one and he said I'd have to talk to that department. Clearly while everything is under Sears umbrella you have two completely different divisions that don't align with one another. I couldn't obtain the information needed at the time of service to even ball park the cost of a new unit which would inform the decision to payout the large expense or just move to buy a new unit. I won't be using this service again unfortunately. Its the system, not the technician. He was cordial. Your system makes no sense being so disjointed and leaving customers not supported.

Sears Home Warranty Fail's Greatly/Unprepared
James came unprepared to repair our oven. He called before arriving stating he did not have the proper tools to repair our oven due to the fact he was in a "rental vehicle" and was not allowed to carry such items in that particular vehicle. I explained to him that he was the second or third technician to not have the proper tools. A dolly to move our wall oven. He also stated he had not been to our house for repairs previously. Yet, once he spoke and arrived to our home, he realized he had been to our home in the past and was not prepared then as well. James actually called my wife after speaking to me and tried to explain to her that he didn't have the dolly and could possibly reschedule the service call once he had his "own service vehicle." He actually made it to our house and stated that whatever part was here at the house was incorrect and could not repair our oven. He called his "supervisor" and explained what the issue was. But James stated that his supervisor stated to him that "all they had available was a black part" for our oven. It would be the wrong color. He eventually had to leave and as he was leaving he explained to my wife that, "The survey was about him." Insinuating to write a good review. James had been to our home once already to repair our oven. He didn't have a dolly then. He should have already understood the situation and been prepared. Or at least his "supervisor" should have understood the issue and sent another technician that could have had the proper tool. "A Dolly." Sears has dropped the ball on our service repair, since July. My wife has spoken to several representatives on the phone throughout this ordeal and they have taken notes. Supposedly. Each time she speaks to someone, they put her on hold or disconnect her when she asks to speak to supervisor.

Not happy
Did not fix it. Now another technician has to come out to order the part. I am not happy.

Rude and elitist
This is the same Tech that evaluated our stove several weeks ago, and at that time refused to replace our heating element, even though it was not getting to the proper temperature. He tried to justify his decision based on his "25 years of experience." But we still needed them return and re-evaluate it as it's still not working. And they sent the same Technician who was so rude to my Wife and other family members. He arrived already assuming that our oven was working properly. But it doesn't heat properly and it has been severely undercooking our food. This person will never be allowed back in my home again.

Worst Home Repair Service Experience - Ever! Buyer beware!
Would give negative star rating if I could. This is my story…buyer beware Sears A & E Home Services a joint venture held by Whirlpool and Sears Holdings that performs mobile appliance repairs. What a horribly run service company. From the day I called (9/11/23) my home warranty company to the day my minor issue was repaired (10/23/23) by A&E Factory service it was a living nightmare. I waited 2 weeks from the request call for a technician to arrive. Typical 4-hour service window, 8-12p. The tech finally texted at 1:20pm to say he would arrive within the hour. He finally showed around 5:30p. After asking me for all the same info & all the same diagnosis questions I had provided both AHS/America Home Shield (warranty company American Home Shield) and the Sears factory service remote tech that scheduled the service the field tech determined that the call had been set up as a cash collect service and not a home warranty call. Seems there had been no record of the information or photos I had provided to AHS or A&E Svc to the tech's software app on his phone. Important note: I had already called the manufacturer of the double wall ovens, Bosch, who had determined with 98% certainty that it was the control module/control board. I provided this information to the on-site technician. After being on-site for 90 mins trying to sort it out and source a part for which he wasn't sure of the diagnosis – he said he had to cancel the call. Although based on the information I gave him from my call with Bosch, he thought he had a diagnosis & found the part that could likely fix the issue, he couldn't order it or complete the repair until a properly set up service call was created in his app. I would have to initiate another one the next business day with AHS to ensure it was correctly received in the A&E system as a warranty repair ticket so the customer wasn't expected to pay in cash. Horrible!
Did not complete the job. Did not perform any work. Left without even checking in with the landlord whom was waiting for him. Refused to come back and perform duties even when landlord came over with parts. Worst repairman I've ever experienced. Should be fired. My job is not completed, my microwave is still broken and I am still waiting on someone to come back and fix it!
