Confusion

Required to repair a GE Microwave under First American Home Warranty. Had three different visits resulting in three different deliveries of parts. The installation of the first two sets of parts did not fix the microwave and FAHW finally approved a replacement MW. Along the way, I discovered Sears had 2 different work orders assigned to our problem, perhaps resulting in some confusion and lack of communication.

Still not working

Although the repair man drove out on a Saturday in a snowstorm, he determined that the electric element was out but could not determine the model number on my Jenn Aire or the part number. Then wanted to charge me $129 when I joined the Sears Home Services plan which was supposed to save $30. I supposedly have 30 days to find the model or part number MYSELF to use the $99, or $129 if they do not find my membership they talked me into. I asked if he could pull the part and then just replace a matched part and he said that was not how this works. Since i got the Jenn Aire at Sears in Portage I thought a Sears repair personnel would be able to fix it, Evidently the store where I purchased it is now closed down. There is no way I see online at Sears or Jenn Aire to find a model number for the stove or a part number for the part as a housewife who knows nothing about repairing appliances. When I called the repair number to talk to someone I got an AI voice that stated there is no "real person" to talk to, that it is totally an AI service.....Or I could go online and talk to the chat-bot. Not helpful.

The service text did a good job. I would write the overall experience a two. This is due to your AI system and not being able to talk to a real person when the AI system is failing. I had to enter information five and six times to get it into your system. I do not plan to use you again because of this.

Tech was there to fix my oven for warranty service. Tech was not familiar with my appliance. Instilled no confidence that he knew what he was doing. Stated all parts tested fine yet there was NO power to the appliance…so how could it be tested properly. Left visit stating I needed an electrician.

Autonated voice. I couldn't talk to a person. Didn't show on day of my appointment. Parts prices are outrageous. Will not use Sears Repair again.

When he placed the new element in the stove, there was an issue between the continuity and the power which blew the fuse in the breaker box. The electrician came out says there's nothing wrong with the fuse box. It's where the technician installed the new heating element. We're gonna have to have someone come out From your company and fix it.

First all my first appointment was cancelled by the company. Secondly, somehow the rescheduled appointment was canceled without my knowledge. The service guy that called said he would have to edit his schedule in order to come today. I called the office and they straighten it out and sent a service repairman as I requested
