We have a 6 year old KitchenAid dishwasher that worked perfectly except for not drying the dishes or heating the water during the cleaning cycle. Since the front-panel LED's did not indicate any known problem, rather than changing out the heater element myself I thought it best to call Sears and have their technician do a full diagnostic. As it turned out, I'm very glad I made that choice. Our technician Randy was able to verify the heating element was working fine in diagnostic mode. Given that our dishwasher was not doing an emergency drain during its cycle, that made the most likely failing part was the main control board of the dishwasher. Our model did not allow for a comprehensive diagnostic on the control board - Randy was very clear he could not guarantee replacing that board would fix the problem - but he had a high confidence it was the most likely solution to our problem. Even though this was an expensive part, I appreciated Randy's thoroughness in troubleshooting the issue and approved the control board replacement. Our dishwasher works perfectly again and the repair cost was much cheaper than buying a new unit of similar capabilities. Randy did all of his work quickly, kept me fully informed of all of his findings and made sure the kitchen area looked great when he left.

Our technician was great, but we had 3 canceled appointments for 3 consecutive days before he came. Customer service is in India, and while polite, they're totally useless. Knowing what I know now, I would NEVER sign up for this service again.
