We had scheduled an AC unit repair online and were given the window of 8am - noon. All well and good. We received confirmation/reminder emails. Still ok. Then the day of we were told that we were third in-line- probably 10:31 and that our tech would notify us by call or text when he was coming. We were also told that we'd be notified if there was a delay. We waited. 11:30 came with no call or text notifying us of delay. To check on things and make sure our phone number was correct, I went on-line and proceeded to have the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Sears has gone completely AI chat bot for online & phone interactions and NONE of their prompts were what I needed. I tried the chat bot and was told to check the online scheduler or call a number. I did both. Over and over- calling multiple numbers, texting the chat bot again and again- Nothing I said or typed got any different response than the bare minimum information that we were now second in line and Armando would text us when he was on his way. Most times this would be ok- whatever. However when noon came the phone started saying that we had an 'open appointment' but had 'missed our window' and asking if we wanted to reschedule. Now we were confused- the computer kept saying we were next in line and we still had an appointment albeit a late one but the unhelpful bots were inferring differently. If we'd been able to speak to a human, this would have been cleared up in less than 5 minutes. We would have known that things were just running really late. But, what really got to me was when the chat bot AI 'Samantha' began to suggest I email my complaints and after I wrote one it bounced back! The address was no longer available!!! I went back to the chat and twice more the AI gave me places to go for cust service that were NO LONGER AVAILABLE! Come on people. This is customer service 101. The funniest thing was when the AI kept apologizing for my frustration saying it understood -eyeroll emoji
