Refrigerator Repair

Deryck was polite and courteous. He arrived on time, and diagnosed the problem without opening the refrigerator. He stated that the control boards was out. He stated that "That is a problem with Frigidaire". He opened the door on the refrigerator and took pictures of the serial number. He told me that he would order the part and it would be in in about 3-4 days. He also stated that if there was any warranty issues someone from Sears would call me. He never once said anything to me about the bug infestation or the fact that the warranty would not cover the repair. As far as a technician goes,I give Desryck a 4.5 out of 5. As far as communication skills with the customer he gets a 0. I understand that the " infestation " voids the warranty but the technician should have told me that. The fact that he was able to diagnose the problem without even opening the door to see that there were bugs inside and stating that there is a problem with the control boards on Frigidaire refrigerators should be an indicator that the problem exists even without and infestation.

Poor Cooling refrigerator

While the technicians explanation is plausible for the refrigerator issue we are having it isn't the only possibility. The technician did not check the refrigeration system for leaks/low pressure which would also be a viable explanation. Instead they proposed a $600+ repair. A service call should not be about getting to the most expensive repair option.

Would Not Recommend Sears

We recently moved into a new home in Oregon, and after running the dishwasher for the first time, we quickly realized it was broken - and it ended up flooding our kitchen flooring and foundation. We were unable to find a technician to come repair it on the Coast, so we inquired with Sears Home Services. I submitted the make and model of the dishwasher, along with the issues as indicated by the plumber that came to secure the flooding. Our Sears technician came from Portland around 0930 (with a time slot of 8:00 AM-5:00 PM). He did not seem to have any information about our appointment, and was not very friendly at all. He did not have the parts to fix the dishwasher, and it was going to cost $500 to have them ordered in addition to labor. Nothing was solved, and we had to pay the diagnostic fee in addition to getting a new dishwasher instead. The entire experience was a waste of time and money, and it appears that the only services Sears offers are attempts to persuade people into paying for their appliance insurance program.

He calls at 9am saying hes 30 minutes away. He arrives at 3pm. The when he comes hes in a rush to leave because he doesnt want to wait 3 minutes so tenants can open door. Hes very rude.

I had a sears appointment June 23,2025 Sears never made appointment. Was told at five o'clock the appointment was canceled and needs to be rescheduled. I called Electrolux and they schedule another company to fix my appliance. Apparently they never communicated with you. Sorry for the technician who came today. Spoke to him and very understanding and apologized for the confusion.

Wayne was good

I would rate it 5 stars but I've never had such a terrible experience then the one I've had with sears. I have American home shield they dispatched sears, the service window was 8am to 5pm I lost three days of work waiting for them to show up. First they were coming on June 13, they waited until 5:01 pm to cancel via text. Rescheduled for June 16, and guess what happened they rescheduled again for June 17. Wayne finally made it to my house was very professional and knew his job. He told my wife they wouldn't be able to get parts and that our refrigerator was not repairable. He took pictures of the refrigerator and said he was submitting his report to sears and American home shield should reach out with next steps. I've called yesterday and again today. Both times I was told they wanted to dispatch sears again because sears has no record of Wayne saying what he told us. Instead they claim he said we no longer needed service. AHS keeps calling sears to get updates on my service and they can't get a hold of anyone. That's incredible you pay for a service and you have no way to contact sears management directly. This has been the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

Door has loud squeak when opening/closing

The door doesn't leak but now has an extremely load squeak when opening and closing the door. David didn't say anything about this prior to leaving and needs to fix it

Three weeks ago had an appointment for a warranty repair on a microwave technician showed up ordered the part. Left within 10 minutes. Rescheduled for a week later. Parts arrived at my home, technician did not return as scheduled. It was a nightmare of an effort to get it rescheduled. Technician finally came today, visibly annoyed at having to return again. Was here less than five minutes to replace the part and left without so much as an apology for the additional weeks delay and having the repair completed.

Dishwasher

Michael was a very nice individual, and fixed the original complaint - leaking door and Finish dispenser. But unfortunately, whatever he did to repair the machine, cause the door to squeak and screech terribly. We had him come back and he softened the noise some, but he basically threw up his hands and said he couldn't fix it. All I can say is that it did not squeak when he started working on it, but it does now.
