It was a simple issue - the fabric softener dispenser in the washer was not working. The technician claimed it needed a new part, for which we were charged, along with the charge for the service visit. The part arrived and was installed and the problem persists. For the dryer, the sensor indicated the vent was clogged. The technician insisted the exhaust vent had to be cleared. The following day we hired Sears to do the job. They came out, charged $200+ and concluded the vent was NOT clogged. The following day, we used the dryer and the same sensor fault appeared. Clearly, a waste of time and money.

My dryer has not worked since the beginning of December 2022. It is now February 22 , 2023 and the dryer still is not working after todays repair. Between Sears cancelling appointments, rescheduling, parts being ordered, repairs being made and technician breaking parts, technician being rude it has been a nightmare! I have requested to speak with a manager several times and NO ONE calls. I have an extended warranty. Why? It makes no difference. Representative states to give the technician one more chance. How many more chances? This is NOT acceptable!!!! I am ready to get a lawyer involved. Next date for technician is March 6,2023.
judy L,
Sears appliance sucks. They have no walk in stores. I have no idea what they are doing about warranties or repairs. They did not help me at all.
Bruce R,
Should get no stars today, but can’t post without one. Recap of service fiasco with Sears home services appliance repair contracted through First American Home Warranty After the initial claim for repair was issued an appointment text was received stating the appointment was for 7/3 between 8am & 5pm. On June 30th the appointment was rescheduled for July 12th. On July 2nd an appointment confirmation text for July 12th was received from Sears. On July 5th received a voicemail and text from a 331 area code requesting information about the microwave. Pictures of the microwave and serial number label was texted to the 331 area code. On July 6th received a text from the 331 area code that the parts were ordered. On July 10th 3pm a text was sent to the 331 area code to confirm the appointment. No response received. On July 10th at 7pm a text from Sear was received reminding of the July 12th appointment. On July 11 at 10am a text was sent to the 331 area code asking if a time of arrival could be given. No response. On July 11th at 8pm a text was received confirming the July 12th appointment between 8am & 5pm. On July 12th at 8:30am a call from a 954 area code was received asking whether the microwave was freestanding or fixed above the oven. The caller was informed that it was fixed above the oven. The caller stated Sears had to find someone with equipment to do the repair. The caller was asked about the time of arrival and stated that someone would be there in the morning on July 12th. On July 12th at 8:55am a TEXT WAS RECEIVED from Sears that THE APPOINTMENT WAS RESCHEDULED FOR JULY 13th BETWEEN 8am & 5pm!!! ON JULY 12th at 8:58am A TEXT WAS RECEIVED FROM FIRST AMERICAN HOME WARRANTY THAT MY APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 3rd!!! On July 12th a text was received from Sears confirming the appointment for TODAY JULY 13th BETWEEN 8am & 5pm. TODAY IS JULY 12th!!! On July 12th at 12:48pm a call from Sears 800# robocall confirming the appointment THEY rescheduled for July 13th. On July 12th: 1 call was placed to the 331 area code for clarification and help. NO RESPONSE! 2 calls were made to the 954 area code. NO RESPONSE! 3 calls were made to the Sears 800# to try to get a representative for assistance. Only able Cancel or make an appointment. No representative can be contacted! It is inconceivable that a competent company would expect a customer to change their schedule and take time off, only to wait around for 8 hours for them to show up, AND DO IT ALL VIA TEXT MESSAGING!!! The July 13th appointment was rescheduled for July 18th. The question is “Will another fiasco be outlined again or will the services be provided with the correct equipment and the parts that were ordered on July 6th be available and be the correct parts.” Time will tell.

As many others have stated… STAY AWAY from these services. The will come out to diagnose for a $99 fee + tax, just to tell you the repair cost the same or even more than a new appliance. As soon as you show discontent with the price, they immediately try to sell you a year subscription for around $700-$800. Horrible practice.

Our refrigerator stopped cooling and we called for repair since this is where we purchased the appliance before they closed their stores. The technician arrived as scheduled and was courteous. He diagnosed as a fan issue. The part was ordered along with the icemaker that had been broken less than 2 years after we purchased. We were told it would be 6-7 days before the parts arrived. 4 days later we received the fan part, but only an email notification that the icemaker was backordered. Cut to 4 weeks of waiting for a backordered part that never arrived. The second trip for repair was cancelled by the Sears automated system because it knows we had not received the part. I had to plead with the overseas customer service person to send someone to fix. The end of that week the second technician, also courteous, came and said the diagnosis was incorrect and the motherboard was fried, so we had to buy a new refrigerator after all. We were told we would be refunded everything except for the $99 initial service fee. That was 4 weeks ago. After the first 3 weeks of waiting I called customer service and they informed me that I was supposed to initiate the refund request, but they did that for me and was told I would be contacted within 72 hours. No contact. Today I call and they said it takes 14 days for the refund to take place. I'm sure I'll be calling them again next week when the refund doesn't come. Zero stars. Good luck getting hold of someone on the phone.
Nicholas E,
Polite gentlemen. I was told I would get an estimate or report for my repair. I have called and been promised this report immediately. Nothing has been sent which means you essentially did a diagnosis collected the fee and gave me nothing in return,. I would like a diagnosis report or my money back.
