We have had Sears repair at our home several times for multiple appliances. Have had no issues at all, however this time I booked online, received a confirmation and technician did not show up and did not receive a call. Could not find a person to speak with about this. I had to book another appt and tech finally showed up. Issac arrived when they indicated and he performed a thorough inspection of our dryer, but did not find any needed repairs.

Customer service response - Thank you for your feedback, Christine. We apologize for the inconvenience with the initial appointment and are glad Isaac provided a thorough inspection.

The Dryer still stops sporadically. The technician says it’s the sensor. Can you replace the sensor?

5 stars for Eric, 1 for Sears. I am livid with Sears right now, but Eric was in and out fast, and he said I needed a new capacitor and to call the warranty department. Eric was very pleasant and professional. I called Sears and was transferred all over the place for 30 minutes at least. They said Eric is supposed to put in the order. Runarounds aren't fun when you already have a lot going on in your life. Sears also never updated the timeframe of arrival, which makes Eric look bad. Sears needs to get their act together. Update on 4/28/25- Eric came back to my house after a senior technician was supposed to show up. It has now been almost a month where I have not had air conditioning on one side of my house where I sleep and do some work. I was on the phone for almost three hours, with four different departments.Trying to finalize a plan to get my air conditioning working. They're trying to tell me that. I don't you have a warranty on a zoning system? Where it says nowhere in the contract about that. Two other departments also said they could not find that wording, and the third department finally just transferred me to somebody else. The point is that it is extremely hot in my house, i can't get to sleep or stay asleep, and Nobody is trying to help other than the Benefits department who is from the USA, who, by the way, also doesn't see the zoning system on my warranty. I asked for a third party exemption due to the issues that I wrote about. Let's see where that gets me and how long it takes.

This is the second time that we've used Sears for our Thor microwave repair. The first time the tech order the part for us but this time the tech told us that we have to email Thor the list of parts needed without providing us the names of the parts in writing. We're disappointed that he couldn't put the order in himself or at least give us the parts in writing. Instead we have to hope that we request the correct parts. If we had a choice, we would not use Sears Appliance Repair going forward.

I was told that joining the appliance warranty program would save me a lot of money. Instead, I was charged over $350 for a 5-minute service call to replace a small part on my refrigerator. I believe the fee was grossly inflated to help cover the $150 discount I was promised. The part was only $26, but I owed $250 for this quick trip & repair. The technician knew I was shocked at the price but ignored my complaint. This entire process was a mistake & I am disappointed in how Sears is taking advantage.

The problem is not fixed. The noisy motor sound is still happening despite installation of the new part.

My water softener broke in February. The scheduling company is abysmal. I have an extended warranty and because of that I had to use a specific type of service person. This person is way overbooked. It took until April to get them out to look at the unit, diagnose it and order parts. He then wasn't able to come out and install the new parts to complete the repair until July. This is 4 months without my water softener even though I paid extra for the extended warranty. The repair guy was great, just overworked. But their scheduling and dispatching people are separate they can't communicate with each other on your behalf. They have to go through the online scheduling system which means they can't handle situations like mine where the repair person was scheduled to come out multiple times, but the week of the appointment they texted that I needed to reschedule. Bottom line: Don't buy an extended warranty through these guys. They are pathetic and should go out of business unless they get their scheduling and customer service act together!
