Not happy with the install nor the product

The installation began 5 weeks ago and the system is not functioning correctly. There is a room (Casita) that is separate from the main house and should not be heated or cooled when the main house is. It has it's own thermostat. Right now the room is being heated and cooled along with the main house even after their 'fix' a couple of weeks ago. Also, a desk was damaged by a worker that was attaching registers to the ceiling and he must have dropped his ladder on the desk and sheared the edge off of a shelf. I brought it up with the installer and he wanted to put the blame on the Coit Air Duct cleaner from days earlier. I knew it wasn't him because the desk was clean until the day the registers were put up then the debris was on the desk, the debris turned out to be the edge of the shelf that was busted off. Back to the installation. I walked outside to look at the outside unit and was appalled at what I saw. I saw the lines running from the outside unit going up the exterior wall and into the attic vent hole, I guess you'd call it. It's the vent that is usually screened under the roof line. Well, they left it open. A big open hole. Open for any crawling or flying varmint to make their way into my attic. They were already aware of my roof rat problem that I have been fighting with an exterminator. There are rat traps in the attic. The installer placed a screen over the vent at my request. I shouldn't have had to even mention that. Aren't there building codes that cover that sort of thing? The Product: I'm not so sure I'm going to like this new HVAC system. It takes too long to get any heat or cool air out of the registers. It takes anywhere from 8 to 18 minutes! I'm used to instant heat and a/c with my old system. Going back to the main problem, the damper's not working properly to shut off the Casita from the main house. I spoke with the installer on Sept 29th and he said he'd schedule something asap. That was 11 days ago. I'm still waiting.

Installers are slops and left my deck full of drill debris but didn't clean up after the job. They also left black shoe prints on my bedroom carpet that cannot be vacuum out and didn't border to clean up even when asked to vacuum the carpet after the job.

Won't turn to sears ever again

Service was good quality is extremely poor. I still don't have a system working 100% just returned to seers because they've been around for a long time that the quality would be there but it is not. I don't even know the name brand of the air conditioner that they put in and never heard of it The heater well it's 100 outside of it. Tried that one yet but having problems already with the AC in it hasn't been in for two months.

HVAC INSTALLATION

Our unit was installed on June 28, 2023 (Wednesday), worked fine until next day when it showed a system fault and the unit stopped working. The contractor showed up Friday morning and found out that the circuit breaker tripped. He instructed us to reset it if it happens again. Towards the afternoon, it kept tripping every half hour or so. I messaged him again but he told me that he couldn't come back till the following Monday afternoon. It's been so miserable with an indoor temp of 84 degrees downstairs and 88.5 upstairs. On Monday, July 3, he came and upgraded the circuit breaker and adjusted the air flow. It was working fine until July 11 when we noticed that the upstairs bedrooms were not cooling efficiently. The thermostat was set at 74, downstairs was reading 73 but upstairs were 80.2 on one room and 86 in the master bedroom. I reset the thermostat to 72 and the thermometer downstairs was reading 69 but it was still over 83 degrees in the master bedroom. I messaged the contractor that day but I haven't had any response to date. I remember the salesperson mentioned that we were sold the most efficient unit and the temperature difference between the 2 floors should be within around 2 degrees or so. I remember him saying that there would be a temperature control for each floor to keep both floor temperatures as close as possible.

Do not use Sears to install AC. The salesperson sold the wrong size units, didn't take good pictures of the electric panel, and submitted the online forms incorrectly. The project manager was confusing and unclear with what was being done. The installers placed the units in a terrible location. One of the installers wanted me to pay him directly for the electrical work instead of using the certified electrician. The electrician left exposed wires outside and the project manager said it wasn't his job to fix the exposed wires. Worst of all they priced it wrong when they submitted the work order and instead of keeping the original promised price they charged more and said I could not back out without a penalty fee of thousands of dollars because they already ordered the equipment.
