GE dryer
Tech was excellent. Very nice and knew what he needed to do. The quality of the appliance is rated a 0. When a wire burns out and the unit isn't even a year old that's poor quality. Tech also noted that several of the machines he's repaired was because of the wiring. Maybe these units should have been recalled before a fire happens. If this wire unit burns out again I will hold GE liable.

Warsaw's very hard groundwater is one of the biggest factors behind appliance wear in this area. Water sourced from the region's limestone and dolomite bedrock carries heavy calcium and magnesium, leaving scale in washers, dishwashers, and water heaters and shortening the life of valves and heating elements. Layer on a humid continental climate — long, wet summers in the mid-80s and cold, snowy winters — and appliances here work hard year-round. Many homes near the downtown and lake district, including in Hawthorne Addition, are older with compact kitchens and tight laundry areas that favor smaller or stackable units. Our manufacturer-trained technicians know these local patterns and repair most major brands to keep your home running.
A refrigerator that won't cool is one of the most common calls our technicians get in Warsaw, especially during the humid stretch of summer. When outdoor temperatures reach the mid-80s and indoor humidity climbs, compressors and condensers work overtime, and dust-clogged coils make the problem worse. Warm spots, a warm freezer, or constant running often point to a failing compressor, a bad fan, or a refrigerant issue. In older Hawthorne Addition kitchens with narrower openings, we help size and service fridges that fit the space. Cleaning the condenser coils once or twice a year is a simple preventive step that eases the cooling load and extends the life of your unit.
Hard water takes a heavy toll on washing machines in Warsaw. Mineral scale builds up in inlet valves, hoses, and pumps, reducing detergent efficiency and eventually leading to leaks and spin-cycle failures. If your washer won't spin, won't drain, or leaves clothes soaked, the cause is often a clogged pump, a worn drive belt, or a failed lid switch. Many two-bedroom rentals and smaller homes here rely on compact or stackable washers, and we service those as well as full-size units. Running a periodic cleaning cycle and having mineral buildup checked helps keep your machine draining and spinning properly.
Warsaw's cold, snowy winters — with roughly 20 to 31 inches of snow a year — mean dryers run hard for months at a time. A dryer that won't heat usually points to a failed heating element, a blown thermal fuse, or a faulty thermostat. In older homes with tight laundry closets, restricted venting is a frequent culprit, causing long dry times and overheating. Lint buildup in the vent line is both a performance and safety concern, so we check the full airflow path during service. Keeping the lint screen and vent clear is the single best way to prevent heating problems and extend dryer life.
The same hard water that scales up washers also clogs dishwashers across Warsaw. Mineral deposits build up in spray arms, inlet valves, and drain lines, leaving cloudy glassware, film on dishes, and standing water at the bottom of the tub. A dishwasher that won't drain often has a blocked filter, a clogged drain hose, or a failing drain pump. Leaks may trace back to a worn door gasket or a cracked hose fitting. Periodic descaling and cleaning the filter go a long way toward preventing repeat problems in this hard-water region.
Warsaw kitchens run a mix of gas and electric ranges, and uneven baking is a common complaint. On electric ovens, a burned-out bake or broil element or a faulty temperature sensor is often to blame; on gas models, a weak igniter or a clogged burner can cause hot spots and slow preheating. Older Hawthorne Addition kitchens are typically sized for standard 30-inch ranges, and we service those alongside modern units. If your oven runs hot, cold, or inconsistently, our technicians can recalibrate or replace the failing part so your cooking results are reliable again.
Warsaw's true four-season climate stresses heating and cooling equipment equally. Freezing, snowy winters push furnaces and heat pumps hard for months, while warm, humid, stormy summers strain central air systems. Common issues include furnaces that won't ignite or short-cycle, heat pumps that struggle to switch modes, and AC units that stop cooling after a summer storm. High summer humidity also adds moisture load, and heavy tree, grass, and ragweed pollen from the surrounding lake country clogs filters faster than in many areas. Sears Home Services repairs furnaces, central air, and heat pumps, and seasonal maintenance before winter and summer helps catch small problems before they leave you without heat or cooling.
Costs vary by appliance and the parts needed. Your manufacturer-trained technician diagnoses the problem on-site and provides an exact quote — parts and labor — before any work begins, and that quote is locked in once provided. A diagnostic fee of $90 to $150 depending on the appliance applies, and it's waived if you proceed with the repair.
We're available 6 days a week with early morning to evening appointments. Check for same-day availability when you book online or call — same-day appointments may be available in your area depending on demand and technician schedules.
We repair most major brands, including Whirlpool, Maytag, Samsung, LG, GE, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Amana, Bosch, and more — no matter where you bought it. If you're unsure whether we service your model, just ask when you schedule.
Most refrigerators last around 10 to 15 years. If yours is under 8 years old and the repair costs less than half the price of a comparable new unit, repair is usually the smart choice. Given Warsaw's humid summers that push compressors hard, a well-timed repair often extends a fridge's life well past the average. Our technician can give you an exact quote so you can decide with real numbers.
Schedule online or by phone, and you'll get confirmation by email and text plus reminders and real-time technician tracking on service day. Your technician diagnoses the issue, provides an exact quote before starting, completes the repair, and tests the appliance. Every repair is backed by our service guarantee.
Yes. After the on-site diagnosis, your technician gives you an exact quote covering both parts and labor. That quote doesn't change once provided. You approve the cost before any work begins, and if you decline, you pay only the diagnostic fee.
Our technicians provide appliance repair throughout Warsaw and nearby communities including Winona Lake, Hawthorne Addition, Leesburg, Pierceton, and areas around Center Lake, Pike Lake, and Winona Lake. We cover the greater Kosciusko County service area six days a week.
It does. Warsaw's groundwater is notably hard, carrying calcium and magnesium from the local limestone and dolomite bedrock. That mineral load builds up as scale in washers, dishwashers, ice makers, and water heaters, reducing efficiency and shortening appliance life. Periodic descaling and part checks help offset the effect, and our technicians look for scale-related wear on every service call.
A few simple habits go a long way: clean your refrigerator condenser coils once or twice a year, keep dryer lint screens and vent lines clear, run periodic cleaning or descaling cycles in your washer and dishwasher, and schedule seasonal HVAC checks before winter and summer. In a hard-water area like Warsaw, staying ahead of mineral buildup is especially important for keeping water-using appliances running efficiently.
