Where can I find a manual?
Among the calls, e-mails and text chats we receive every day, the question of how to find a manual is asked regularly. Access to manuals for hundreds of thousands of model numbers is just one click away when you're on www.searshomeservices.com.
Our manual search - powered by Manage My Home - makes it easy to find what you're looking for. Just tell us the type of product, a brand name, a model number or any combination of these, and we'll do our best to find a match. Don't know how to find a model number? Quick hint - a search on the brand name and product type (such as Kenmore Refrigerator) will show any results we have along with model numbers so you can find the right manual. You can even narrow your search results based on the kind of product you have (top or bottom mount refrigerator, for example).
One other suggestion, once you've found your product manual on Manage My Home - hit the "Launch now" next to the "Want to experience this product?" prompt. Manage My Home will serve up tips to make your product work better, projects related to your product, and all sorts of useful content, ideas, related products, and answers that others have received about their products.

having a tough time replacing the motor drive belt on my proform 835QT I cant find a "quick" way to disconnect the belt from the treadmill roller pulley on the left side. Do I have to take off the whole treadmill belt roller assembly?
Help
Posted by steven22 on February 11, 2010 at 06:21 PM CST #
Hi Steven, I'm Cameron a Sears Blue Service Crew member. I was trying to find the repair manual for this treadmill online. I did not find the manual, although I did find these instructions. You will need to loosen the tension on the drive belt and remove the front roller out of it's holder. The tension on the drive belt can be loosened by loosening a bolt on the motor allowing the motor to move forward a little. Once you've pulled the front roller from the frame, remove the old belt and install the new one. Now replace the roller into the frame and re-tightened the motor with tension on the belt. I hope this helps. As always, we're here if you need us. You can reach us directly by phone at 1-800-424-2047 as well.

I have a Kenmore over-the-range microwave that malfunctioned during a cook cycle. It suddenly stopped and there was f-6 on the display. It started buzzing and nothing would work. Any button pushed brought up the f-6.
I pulled the power plug hoping it would reset. It did not, it only rerverted back to the buzzing and the f-6 on the display. How can I find out what the problem is and how to correct.
Shortly after I bought and installed the unit, there was a recall and a repairman came out and fixed it.
Could this have anything to do with the current malfunction? If not, what does the f-6 mean and how can I fix it. Thanks Bob
Posted by Robert Batchelor on February 21, 2010 at 12:59 PM CST #
Bob, this is Tino with the Sears Blue Service Crew and I completely understand how not only a situation like this can be puzzling, but also an inconvenience for your microwave to not be working as it should. The F6 error code is indiacating some kind of power failiure within the unit and without a model number I would be unable to pinpoint exactly what the F6 code means. The best thing we can do is what we call the hardwire reset, which is shutting off the breaker to the outlet the microwave is connected to for two minutes. Then turn it back on and try to start the microwave. The reason you turn off the breaker instead of unplugging it is because when you unplug the microwave, power still remains in the outlet and it may not work as best. When the breaker is off, power ceases in the outlet and when you turn it back on it restarts that energy and in turn restarts the unit. If that does not work then I would recommend getting professional assistance and you can set that up yourself if you like at www.SearsHomeServices.com or you can contact us at 1-800-803-6775 and any of our associates will gladly get you set up for service. I really hope this information helps!

Tino Thanks for getting back to me. I tried the breaker, but it still comes back on and still hums withthe f-6 on the display. Sorry I forgot to give all information on first message. The unit was mfg March 2000. Seriel # XC K 10 15687, Model# 69682/2/7/9
After doing what you said, it still reacts the same, but after a short time, it stopped buzzing and after a few minutes, it started again. Opening the dooor stops the buz. However, this last time it came back on and displayed -f6- on the display which is different from before
Maybe this added information will help. I hate to call service because it is a bear to take out and then i will probably have to replace it anyway. How about the recall? i don't know if it was a power problem or what.

Replaced contol in my freezer (253.26432100). Temp only goes down to 29F. Ordered a second controller and I have the same problem. Is there something else wrong or are these control units bad?
Posted by 64.212.198.238 on March 08, 2010 at 09:37 AM CST #
Hi 64.212.198.238. I'm Kevyn, a Sears Blue Service Crew member. A freezer still not cooling properly after those boards have been replaced would make me very upset. The problem may be that it could have a low Freon charge. This could be caused by a leak in your sealed system. You could also have a partial restriction in the sealed system that is preventing it from cooling properly. The thermostat may be out of calibration also. There are many things that can cause this problem. I recommend having a technician diagnose the exact problem. Doing this will most likely save money on parts that you may not need. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please use the home page of our website, www.SearsHomeServices.com or call us directly at 1-800-424-2047.

My son has a KitchenAid Range Part # KGSA 906 PSS 00. He gets error E040 when checking the range. The igniter does not work and the display on the range does not work. There had been some power surges from the Cal Edison that affected his garage opener. At the same time he had an ant problem in the kitchen.
Posted by John Malloy on March 10, 2010 at 09:04 AM CST #
Hello John, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. A range not working properly is something I would be concerned about as well. I understand how this might make you and your son feel. The E040 error means that something may have gone wrong with the control board or the main sensor switch could be open. The power surges may have had a part to play and it is hard to tell if ants have caused this problem. It may also be due to cold temperature. This means that the sensor control may think the control board is shorted out. I recommend having a professional look at the appliance to diagnose the exact cause of the failure. If you would like to schedule an appointment, you can do so on the home page of our website, www.SearsHomeServices.com. You can also call us directly at 1-800-424-2047.

my new front load kenmore washer model 4027 is arriving shortly and i need to know if it is safe to continue using my home made detergent in the machine. my detergent is made of water, borax, washing soda and fels naptha soap. it is low sudsing, in fact there are really not any suds in my washer. it cleans great and is cheap to make so if it wont damage my machine i'd really like to continue using it. i appreciate your help.
Posted by dana on April 07, 2010 at 09:02 AM CDT #
Dana, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I can see why you make your own detergent! That is a pretty interesting mixture of soaps. However, High Efficiency (H.E.) washing machines are only approved for High Efficiency detergents. Older washers that use regular detergent would have definitely been able to take your concoction. Newer H.E. washers use different components that work specifilally with H.E. detergent only. If one uses older detergent with an H.E. washer, there will be numerous problems that will most likely occur and not be covered under the warranty of your new product. There is a product called Method Squeaky Clean. It is detergent that is both regular and H.E. washer compatible, non-harmful for the environment and cost efficient. You can find it on the Sears.com website or you can use this link: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_SP100A140S593147P?keyword=green+laundry+detergent# . I hope this information helps! I have a kenmore mod. 95005102 stove. That the oven is locked and showing e1 f5 in the clock window. I have not been able to find a manual
Posted by oscar on April 18, 2010 at 04:05 PM CDT #
Hello Oscar, this is Tino from the Sears Blue Service Crew. I completely understand the inconvenience in not having your oven working properly and I will be happy to assist you. With the model number provided, I was unable to pull up any documentation on your oven but the error code you are receiving is indicating an internal failure with your oven. I recommend to try what we call a hardwire reset, which is shutting off the breaker to the outlet the oven is connected to for two minutes.
Then turn it back on and press the PAUSE/CANCEL or CLEAR/OFF button twice to clear the display. The reason you turn off the breaker instead of unplugging it is because when you unplug the machine, power still remains in the outlet and it may not work as best. When the breaker is off, power ceases in the outlet and when you turn it back on it restarts that energy and in turn restarts the unit. If that does not work then I would recommend getting professional assistance.

We bought a Craftsman Professional 14" Bandsaw, 1 1/2 hp. back in 2003 from Sears. We have moved and cannot find the instruction booklet. I looked in your manual library and get absolutely nothing when I type in Bandsaw! Can you help me?

Hello Carolyn, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. I can definitely help you find your owner's manual. Please visit www.ManageMyLife.com, click "Manuals" located at the top of the home page, type in the complete model number for your bandsaw and click "View Manual" when the results are displayed. The manual will then open in a PDF and you will be able to view, save and even print the material all for free! Craftsman lawn tractor stalls when I release the clutch/brake.
Posted by David on August 07, 2010 at 11:31 AM CDT #
David, this is Jon with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I know how much of a necessity lawn tractors are this time of year. I do have some helpful information to assist you. Most Craftsman tractors that die when the clutch is released have a problem in the seat switch, or the seat switch connector. The connector on your seat switch has a switch built inside it. When the connector is removed from the seat switch it closes a circuit that grounds out the ignition module and kills the engine. When the brake is on the switch on the linkage opens a circuit and prevents this from happening. Something is wrong in the seat switch or the seat switch connector that causes the problem you have. Make sure the connector is on the seat switch securely. If the connector is on the seat switch securely, either the seat switch or the connector might be shorted internally. You need a meter to test this. For more information or if you would like to schedule service please feel free to call us here at Sears Home Services at 1-800-424-2047.

I have a sears Kenmore Dryer Mod # 110.60832990 and I need to know where the heating element is located so I can check to see if it went out. My laundry room is a very tight room and I have to take my water softer out and my washer out just to get to the dryer so any help locating this would be greatly appreciated since I cannot have it apart to long. Dryer is not heating at all.....and I cannot afford a repair man to come fix it :-(
Posted by Ms. C on August 17, 2010 at 11:15 AM CDT #
Hi, Ms. C. My name is Cameron, and I'm with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I know what it's like sometimes trying to find the right way to fix something and being caught in a tight place on top of it. You can actually view the parts breakdown for your model at the following link:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.60832990&pathTaken=partSearch
The heating element is behind the heater box, which should be in the lower left hand rear corner, if you were standing at the front of the dryer. This link here is not the same model, but it has the same body style for the cabinet, so the steps to access the element should be relatively close:
http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions/199052-how-do-i-access-and-remove-the-heating-element-in-my-dryer
Also, I'd like to note that there are a few other things worth checking. First, double check the breaker for the dryer. Even if it has not tripped, it may have had a partial trip and the legs of power could have fallen out of sync. To fix that, just try turning it off for a a minute and turning it back on at the circuit breaker. If that doesn't work, before you look at replacing a heating element (unless the element is visibly broken), you may want to consider testing the outlet the dryer is hooked up to (making sure it's getting the 220/240v it should be) as well as consider testing the thermal cut-off, thermostat, sensor, high-level thermostat, and thermal fuse--if any of these components within the heating circuit have gone out, the dryer will not heat.
For further assistance, feel free to reply here on the blog, email contactus@searshomeservices.com, or call us at 1-800-424-2047.

I need an electrical schematic for my 6651653200 dishwasher. Is it available on-line?
Posted by 10.236.95.27 on August 23, 2010 at 07:28 PM CDT #
This is Cameron with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I'd love to help you locate the wiring diagram for your dishwasher. Normally, the wiring diagram would be available for purchase at http://www.SearsPartsDirect.com. This particular model does not list the diagram separately. It appears the wiring diagrams were only available within the tech manual, which is not publically available. There are actually a few different wiring diagrams for the dishwasher, depending on which components you are looking at and which revisions your specific model has been through (whether it has an a newer control board, for example). My suggestion here would be to go to our sister site, http://www.ManageMyLife.com. There, you can login and ask a question of the experts. You would sign up or login, click on the Answers tab, and ask your question. Then, you can add details, including images, and select a screen name. Be sure to check for availability for your screen name. Once that's done, you can submit the question. The experts typically reply within one to two business days. Definitely provide them with your model number. If you're sure which part number control board you have, I would mention that as well. Also, tell them what you are trying to troubleshoot. They may or may not be able to post a copy of the wiring diagram from you. Even if they cannot post the manual, they should be able to assist with the troubleshooting you're looking at doing.
If we can be of further assistance, please post here on the blog, email contactus@searshomeservices.com, or give us a call at 1-800-424-2047.

I have a Kenmore front loading tumble action washer model #417.44152400. It stopped during a heavy load. Removed clothes and tried to start a new smaller load. The washer starts to fill and stops after only a couple of seconds. You can hear an occasional click and light hum of a motor but nothing else happens. If I put it in the drain/spin cycle it pumps water for a couple seconds and then stops. Any ideas?
Posted by Aaron Davis on September 29, 2010 at 08:00 PM CDT #
Hi Aaron Davis, I'm Korinna a Sears Blue Service Crew member. A washer is a major household appliance and definitely an inconvenience to be without. I'm happy to help you today. Upon researching your issue, I came across a previously answered question from one of the Experts at our sister site www.managemylife.com. The Experts talks about your washer's control that will normally prompt you with an error code, notifying you that there is an issue. The Expert includes some test you can try to try and determine the issue. If you weren't prompted with an error code, and the motor runs, but the drum won't spin at all, I would agree with the Expert and say the issue is with a possible broken drive belt.

I've looked all over inside and outside my Kenmore side by side Refrigerator/Freezer with icemaker and water dispenser, and I can;t find a model number or serial number plate anywhere. Where the heck is it? Thanks.
Posted by Craig DeGraff on February 16, 2012 at 02:20 PM CST #
Hello Craig DeGraff, this is Jon from the Sears Blue Service Crew. I know how important it is to have the model number for your appliances. I'm happy to help! The model number is generally located on a sticker on the inside cabinet of the refrigerator section. It would say either Model, or MOD number followed by the Serial or SER number. Craig, for further questions please feel free to contact us here at Sears Home Services at 1-800-424-2047. We're here to help!

I was looking for some info on your Automotive Analyzer # 244-21421 and got here from somebody else asking a question about it. There's nothing listed about it so maybe you can help locate some info on it. A manual or diagram or anything would be helpful.
Thanks, John

Hi John, I'm Jon a Sears Blue Service Crew member. I understand the importance of having information on your items. When searching for this information I wasn't able to locate any manuals or other information. This is most likely due to the age of the analyzer. The parts diagram can be viewed on www.SearsPartsDirect.com with the full model number. I hope that helps. Please feel free to contact us here at Sears Home Services at 1-800-424-2047 for further information. We're happy to help.

This is Jon with the Sears Blue Service Crew. Suzanne, I'm sorry you're having problems locating your washers owner's manual. I'm happy to help. When researching with the 110.84724 model number I'm only locating dryers and laundry centers. What I would suggest is verifying the model number. Once that's been verified visit www.ManageMyLife.com with that full model number, click on the Manuals tab at the top of the page, and then enter the model number only for the search. The model number is generally located on the lid or door of the washer. I hope this helps. Suzanne, for further assistance please feel free to contact us here at Sears Home Services directly at 1-800-424-2047 for further assistance. We're here to help!

Hello Elan Merkel. I'm Korinna with the Sears Blue Service Crew. Unfortunately, this is not a service that we offer. To have your propane gas grill connected to your existing gas line, you will need a certified LP technician to complete this service.
Alternatively, we do work with www.ServiceLive.com. Customers can register on the website (it's free!) and choose the type of job they are looking to have done. Based on job type and area, this will bring up a list of contractors. These contractors have gone through a background check with Sears, for our customers’ added of security. If the contractors have provided us with insurance information, bonding documentation, certifications or licenses, those will have been verified and posted along with the contractor's profile. Once you put in a description of your job requirements, you have two options. You can post the job for selected contractors to bid on, or you can select which contractors to send the job to with your proposed budget. Once that is complete, contractors usually take 1 to 2 days to get back to you.
I really hope this information helps you today Elan. If you have any other questions or concerns, contact us here at Sears Home Services directly at 1-800-424-2047.
