Penny, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I take it you're referring to the baffles inside your dryer that tumble the clothes. In which case, to replace them you would need to remove the top panel of your dryer by unscrewing the screws holding it in place. Then you will be able to see the screws holding the baffles in place on the drum. Unscrew them and replace the baffles as needed. You should be able to order the parts at www.SearsPartsDirect.com . Just visit that website, enter your model number on the right-hand side and browse the parts schematics. You can also call our Sears Parts Direct department at 1-800-366-7278. If you need further assistance or would like to schedule an appointment for one of our technicians to help you out, please call us directly at 1-800-424-2047.

I am repairing a front load Kenmoore clothes washer Model #417.42142100. The bearing in the rear of the tub has burned out. I had a local service guy in and found out the tub contained the bearing so I am ready to order the rear half of the Tub, but do I also need a gasket between the two halves? Is there any other partr I should also order (Just-in-case..)?

Hi Dave, I'm Kevyn, a Sears Blue Crew member. I'm glad you asked this question before you put the tubs together. There is a seal that goes between the two halves. The gasket is about $18.99 and the part number is 134146100. You are able to order this part online by going to www.SearsPartsDirect.com, typing in your model or part number on the right-hand side and then viewing the parts schematics. I hope this helps you fix your washer! If you have any further questions, please give us a call directly at 1-800-424-2047.

Why does the outlet of the dryer get clogged with lint and doesn't seem to stop at the lint filter
Posted by Allen Elliott on March 03, 2010 at 11:15 AM CST #
Hello Allen, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. You have asked an excellent question. There are a couple reasons why this might occur. The first being that the seal on the lint screen may have worn out over time and needs to be replaced. The second reason could be that the lint screen has accumulated residue from softener sheets. You can fix this by washing the screen with water. This should be done periodically to prevent this problem with the lint. These are the two main reasons, because both effect the direction of the airflow. If the air is not being sucked through the lint screen, but around it because the seal is bad or because the screen is blocked with residue, it will not catch the majority of lint. In turn, the exhaust is collecting most of the lint that the filter should have collected. Also, make sure that the exhaust hose that is installed on your dryer is the newer metal hose, not the older plastic ones. The older plastic hoses are prone to trap more lint inside it than the metal hoses. Any abundance of lint build-up is a potential fire hazard and should be cleaned as soon as possible. I hope this information helps! If you have any other questions, please give us a call at 1-800-424-2047.
