We purchased a Maytag dishwasher model 22 17399 on July 21, 2009 from Sears. My wife put liquid rinse aid into the dispenser and it has remained full ever since the first load. Pretty economical but I doubt it is doing its job. What can be wrong? Thanks
Posted by Jerry Walls on February 14, 2010 at 10:01 AM CST #
Hello Jerry Walls, this is Cameron from the Sears Blue Service Crew. I know what you're going through with that new dishwasher. Sometimes, we get them and they do things a little bit differently. We wonder if they're broken or just different. As for the problem with the rinse aid staying full, I know that the dishwashers only use a little bit of the liquid per each wash. I also know after a couple washes, it might still appear full. If it's been several washes, and it is still looking full, it very well might be an issue with the rinse aid dispenser itself. Since it's a new dishwasher, it should be under warranty, and it would be worth taking advantage of the warranty now and having one of our certified technicians take a look at it for you. You can schedule an appointment through our website www.SearsHomeServices.com or you can call us directly at 1-800-424-2047. We're here to help.

We own a NordicTrac 4500. The belt has shifted to the left side of the track and now rubs (and makes a scraping sound when moving with a person on the track). Any advice on shifting the belt back to the center of the track? Thank you. Andrew
Posted by Andrew on February 15, 2010 at 06:33 AM CST #
Andrew, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. There should be instructions on how to adjust your model's belt in your owner's manual. Here's how to make adjustments: If the belt is too far to the left, use an allen wrench to turn the left rear roller bolt clockwise. After turning the bolt, run the machine and see where the belt is on the track. Keep doing this back and forth until the belt is center. Turn the left rear roller bolt counterclockwise if the belt moves too far to the right. I have a Model 137.218300 table saw that the blade and motor assembly will not raise or lower. The screw bar turns freely but the assembly does not move. Is it typical the screw bar threads are stripped or is the motor housing? Also, home service available for this saw?
Posted by Scott Buzzard on February 16, 2010 at 03:44 PM CST #
Hi Carol, I'm Tino a Sears Blue Service Crew member. I completely understand what an inconvenience it can be to not have your treadmill working properly for you and also the confusion behind the error codes it is sending you. As I looked further into this for you I did find that the E1 error code displayed does stand for a power failure within the computer board of your treadmill. The best way to remove the error code would be the hardwire reset, which is shutting off the breaker to the outlet the treadmill is connected to for two minutes. Then turn it back on and try to run the treadmill. The reason you turn off the breaker instead of unplugging it is because when you unplug the machine, power still remains in the outlet and it may not work as best. When the breaker is off, power ceases in the outlet and when you turn it back on it restarts that energy and in turn restarts the unit. If that does not work then I would recommend getting professional assistance. You can set service on our website www.SearsHomeServices.com or you can also call us a 1-800-803-6775 and anyone of representatives will gladly assist. I hope this helps!

Scott, this is Tino with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I do apologize that your table saw is giving you some trouble here and I completely understand how a situation like this can not only be frustrating but also puzzling because the screw bar turns freely, but for some reason the assembly will not move. First off, the one thing I do recommend doing is to thoroughly clean your table saw because the most likely reason for the saw blade and the motor assembly to not move is because the wood sheddings are actually collecting there, making it difficult to move. The best way to clean it would be with an air compressor. The only thing is that you may need to take some things apart to really get in there to clean and you can pull up a schematic of your table saw on www.SearsPartsDirect.com with your model number. Secondly, your table saw does qualify for in home service which can be set through our website www.SearsHomeServices.com or you can contact our representatives at 1-800-803-6775 and we will gladly assist. I really hope this helps!

We have a Whirlpool front loader washing machine. We turned it on to use it for the first time and it starts but about 1 minute into the cycle we get an F11 error message and it just beeps at us.
Is this something we can work on from at home or do we need somebody to come out to our hose to fix it?? I am hoping we can do this on our own.
Thanks!
Posted by Kristine Kuklin on February 18, 2010 at 10:56 PM CST #
Hello Kristine, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. An F11 error code indicates a communication problem. The communication between the Central control board and the Motor control board cannot be sent correctly. If you turned it on for the first time and it is giving you an F11 error code, I recommend having service on your appliance due to the complexity of this issue. The root cause can be a loose wire connection at either the motor control board or the Central control board, motor control board failure, Central control board failure, the door lock or the motor itself. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you just purchased this washer, it should have a manufacturer's warranty. To schedule an appointment for one of our professional technicians to repair your machine, you can do so on the home page of our website, www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling us directly at 1-800-424-2047.

I have a GE model J BP65G V3WH electric range/oven.
It appears the oven is constantly on with the switch in the off position. Is this possible?
Posted by Larry on February 23, 2010 at 08:31 AM CST #
Hi Larry, I'm Kevyn, a Sears Blue Crew member. The oven should not constantly be on. Are you sure it is heating, or is it that the oven light is on? If the light is on, the problem could be the oven door switch or wiring. If the oven is heating in the off position, the problem is most likely be the electronic range control (ERC). Try performing a hard-reset by turning off the power using the circuit breaker switch for at least one full minute. This will reset the control board. If this does not help the problem, the board may need to be replaced. You can find parts online by visiting www.SearsPartsDirect.com , entering the model number on the right-hand side, and viewing the parts schematics. Or use this link to take you to the ERC: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/showPart.pd?partNumber=WB27X5580&productGroupId=0022&supplierId=364&brandId=0432&documentId=E2135765&keySuffixId=NA&modelNumber=JBP65GV3WH&keyId=000016&pageId=00001&productTypeId=0124111&searchModelNumber=JBP65GV3WH&subCompDesc=Cooktop%20&%20control%20panel&brandDesc=GE&modelDesc=ELECTRIC-RANGE&blt=11 . I have a Frigidaire refridgerator with a top freezer and ice maker, the freezer blows cold air yet it will not freeze up, also the bottom section will not get cold either. When you open the door it feels like it's not even on. Yet you can hear it running, it kicks on and off like it's supposed to. It's basically brand new and might be under warranty still but, i'm not sure. Here is the info. that I have to maybe make this easier- Model#FRT18IL6DBN and Serial#BA72636777. Please help me, this is driving me crazy! Thank you, Crystal K.

Crystal, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. A refrigerator not cooling well would drive me crazy too! I can help. Thank you for providing the model and serial number for a reference. From the description you gave, it seems as though the cold air might be escaping. Check the door seals for spilled liquids, dust, dirt, and cracks. Another problem might be that it is not turned up high enough or is in a higher than normal temperature environment. Besides that, the only other cause I can think of is that the air vents may be blocked with ice or the fan may not be working properly. To check this, remove the food from your freezer and then remove the fan cover and back panel inside the freezer compartment. Make sure the fan and vent are not blocked with ice. If it is, you can use a hair dryer to thaw it. This ice build-up can be caused by the defrost system not working correctly. This repair is recommended to be performed by a technician. Your model has a one year manufacturer's warranty, beginning from the original purchase date. If you would like to schedule a service appointment, please call us at 1-800-424-2047. I hope this information has helped!

I have a Hoover Windtunnel UH50000. I was vacuuming and it started smoking. I stopped vacuuming as soon as I noticed. I started it today and the brush won't rotate. I unscrewed the bottom plate to access the brush. The main belt looks to be intact, but the small belt that connects what looks like the drive belt to the brush is loose. It is still attached, but it is loose and I believe that is why it won't work. What could be the problem and how do I fix it (without going to a repairman)?

Hello Ken, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. I understand the issue with not being able to dry clothes. If you have already checked the breaker and actually flipped the switch off then back on, it is possible that the cause is the door switch not functioning properly. Or it may be the start switch. It is very difficult to assume one thing more than another. I think the best way to solve the issue is to have a professional diagnose the root problem. Doing this would likely save money on the repair in the long run. If you need further assistance, please give us a call directly at 1-800-424-2047.

Posted by jim on February 28, 2010 at 02:09 PM CST #
This is Tino with the Sears Blue Service Crew. Jim I would like to thank you for submitting your question. I completely understand how a situation like your oven giving an unknown error code can not only be puzzling, but a huge inconvenience come diner time. What I found about the E3 F1 error code is that it stands for the fuel type select failure which can be happening because of the control board. What I would recommend doing from this point is to try what we call a hardwire reset, which is shutting off the breaker to the outlet the oven is connected to for two minutes. Then turn it back on and press the STOP/CLEAR or, CLEAR/OFF button twice to clear the display. The reason you turn off the breaker instead of unplugging it is because when you unplug the oven, power still remains in the outlet and it may not work as best. When the breaker is off, power ceases in the outlet and when you turn it back on it restarts that energy and in turn restarts the unit. If that does not help the situation, then I recommend that we set you up for service from our technicians. how do i re-program a garage door opener for an old sears 1/3 hp without the smart button/light?
Posted by 204.2.228.207 on March 02, 2010 at 10:36 AM CST #
Hello Valued Customer, this is Tino from the Sears Blue Service Crew. I can see how this situation is puzzling and I will be happy to assist. Without a model number, I will be unable to locate information on your garage door opener. One thing I will recommend doing is since there is no smart button, try holding down one of the buttons on the hand held remote. While you are doing that hold down the LEARN button that is usually located behind the light on the garage door opener itself. The light should flash 2 times and it is now programmed. If that does not seem to work, call our Craftsman garage door associates at 1-800-528-5236. Our associates there are great for troubleshooting garage door openers and reprogramming them as well. For anymore questions, you can contact us at 1-800-803-6775 where our Manage My Life team are always prepared to help.

How do you clean the inside of a toaster oven that you put easy off on and have caused the metal to turn black?
Posted by JIm Cote on March 02, 2010 at 03:08 PM CST #
Jim, this is Tino with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I completely understand your concern about cleaning your toaster oven and what a puzzling situation it can be. I do apologize for the inconvenience but the reason the metal on the inside has turned black is because it is aluminum. Easy off is not recommended to use on aluminum because it may pit and discolor the metal but in some cases may not penetrate into the metal. I recommend cleaning the metal with vinegar and water thoroughly just to avoid any health hazards. For anymore information, feel free to contact us at 1-800-424-2047 where our associates will gladly assist. I hope this helps you Jim!

I have tried different cycles and the first couple of times, it will wash fine, then do the fill up drain automatically problem. What could be the problem and how much to fix? Thank you.
Posted by 64.212.198.241 on March 05, 2010 at 11:39 AM CST #
Hello Lance, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. I understand how much of a concern a drippy freezer can be. I'd like to help. You asked if it is common. It is not. Although water does accumulate after being defrosted from ice form, it is not supposed to leak out of the unit. The defrosted water makes its way down a pre-set path where it is then heated and evaporated. Your model's drain pan is directly below the evaporator assembly. To get to the evaporator, you would need to remove everything from your freezer and remove the liner. You will then see the evaporator coils and the drain pan underneath with a pipe leading from the bottom of the pan to another pan near the compressor at the bottom of the unit. Ensure you don't pack the back of the freezer with too much food, which can cause the food particles or frost to be pushed down the vents and eventually clog the drain hose. Also, if the freezer door is not sealing properly, the warm outside air mixed with the cold air will cause frost to build up. This can also cause ice to form and clog the drain hose. Pour a couple cups of water into the hole of the drain pan and see if it backs up. If it does, there is a clog and the hose should just be replaced. If it does not, the dripping water may be caused by a bad gasket or over filling the freezer. Also, if you have an ice maker, the water line from that might be leaking or damaged and might need to be replaced. You are able to view your model's parts schematics online to give you a visual of what parts are where. To do this, visit www.SearsPartsDirect.com and enter your model number of the right-hand side. To find the exact cause of the dripping, I recommend having a professional take a look at it for you. If you have any other questions or would like to schedule an appointment for one of our technicians to service your appliance, please give us a call at 1-800-424-2047.

64.212.198.241, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I can see how this might be confusing and a huge inconvenience. From your description, it seems as though there is a siphon in your drain. To functionally drain, there needs to be a constant flow of air mixing with the water. If this new air is blocked from entering the drain, it will not drain properly. This siphon is most likely caused by a blockage somewhere in the pipes. Ensure the air gap is clear and that there is no gunk build-up in drains that may lead to the garbage disposal (if so equipped). The installation guide explains where the air gap is located on dishwashers. If you do not have the installation guide, you can find it by visiting www.ManageMyLife.com and clicking on "Manuals" at the top of the page. Then type in your complete model number in the box provided and click "View Installation Guide." This is recommended to be completed by a qualified plumber. Posted by Michael on March 08, 2010 at 10:40 AM CST #
Mr. Baker, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I see the irritation this problem can cause, especially while cooking a meal. GFI outlets are not recommended to support any major appliance for exactly this reason. When the appliance needs to pull more electricity spontaneously, the GFI will trip, causing the power to be disconnected from the outlet. This outlet may need to be changed to a three (3) pronged grounded outlet. Our service technicians are not able to do this type of repair on the home electrical system. I have the exact same problem as Gerald Swanson who made a post on July 30, 2009. On my chain driven craftsman garage dooor opener I relaced the drive shaft with the large plastic gear which was worn, and the worm gear and washers. (The work gear was in good shape but a Sears rep advised that I change that out as well) The garage door now only runs for about 2 seconds, then reverses direction for 2 seconds, then stops. I have made adjustments to the plastic tensioner knobs on ther side and to the up and down dials on the back. None of these adjustments have made the slightest change in the amount of opening or closing. This problem occurs when the chain is attached to the gear sprocket or when it is detached. Thanks

I have a 22cu ft side by side that has quit cooling. The compressor does not kick on but the fan is working and the lights. The compressor got very hot, I unplugged the unit for 8hrs to cool it off and plugged it back in but it does not kick in. If the washer does not spin in the Ultra Clean setting, but spins properly in the Permanent Press setting or by turning the knob manually to the spin setting, then the problem is most likely the timer. 64.212.198.230, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. A garage door opener acting like this can be pretty annoying. Especially while trying to leave the house. I can help! It sounds as if the RPM sensor in the motor has gone bad and needs to be reset by unplugging the unit for at least one full minute to drain the power. If after doing that it still does not work, the RPM sensor may need to be replaced. If the sensors (eyes) are aligned and the LED lights are not blinking, then the problem is most likely the RPM sensor. If the LED lights on the eyes are blinking, then the number of blinks in a sequence is telling you what the problem is. Here is a link to the more common error codes a garage door opener will display by its sensor LED lights flashing: http://media.fotki.com/1_p,wfbqqfwfwgkdffbxgtqsskgwtqkq,vi/ffsgsgfrfxggtqrtqgb/1/1303472/5961857/image23915img-or.gif . Hi Jim, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. This would also throw me through a loop if I were in this pickle. I am able to help. The compressor being hot is normal and the pizza box should not have caused this. From the description you gave, I believe that the start kit may have gone bad and might need to be replaced. When the compressor kicks on, you usually hear a click. This sound is the kit working to turn on the compressor. If it does not kick on, it will most likely be due to what is called a locked (stuck) compressor. The start kit is comprised of three (3) parts: overload, relay and capacitor. You can view and order parts online by visiting www.SearsPartsDirect.com, entering your complete model number on the right-hand side and browsing the parts schematics. It's not a problem to service a product that was not bought at Sears, but there are brand names that we do not service. I do apologize for the inconvenience but I did not find Huskee Supreme 4200 as a brand that we service. The reason for this is because we sign a contract with our brands manufacture that allows us to service them and we do not have a contract with Huskee Supreme 4200. I recommend to call the tractor supply company's customer service line at 1-877-718-6750 to see what is recommended to get your riding mower repaired.

I have a Pro Form treadmill model #831.297360 and the walking belt is bunched up and raised in the middle. Shifting it to the right or left with the allen wrench adjustment does not cause it to flatten out. How do I fix it?
Posted by Ryan B on March 10, 2010 at 05:56 PM CST #
This is Tino with the Sears Blue Service Crew. Ryan I would like to assist you with your treadmill because I understand what an inconvenience it can be without one. What I recommend to do is to clean the walking board and also the belt to remove any old lubrication. Over time, the lubrication can become to slippery for the belt causing it to shift or even bunch up. After cleaning, apply new lubricant and check the bearings just to be sure they are tightened properly. Your treadmill should run fine after this but if not, I do recommend to get service because the walking board may be warped or even broken. Please feel free to call us at 1-800-424-2047 where our associates will gladly get you taken care of or, you can set the service up online on our www.SearsHomeServices.com website.

Hello Edip, this is Tino from the Sears Blue Service Crew and I would like to thank you for submitting your question. I can see how trying to wire the safety switch on your snow thrower can be very puzzling and I'm happy to assist you. Without a model number of your snow thrower, it is difficult to locate the correct wiring diagram so I recommend to visit our www.ManageMyLife.com website to ask our experts. Our website is completely free and after signing up as member to enjoy the full benefits of our website, double click on the red "Answers" tab to submit your question. My Sears electric clothes dryer is 22 years and has just stopped drying, although the motor runs and the drum turns. Does it pay to have it repaired, or should I just bite the bullet and purchase a new one?

Hi Kyle, I'm Tino a Sears Blue Service Crew member. I understand how trying to locate a part for your dryer can get quite confusing and I will be happy to assist in locating that part for you. I did not find a heating coil in the parts list diagram, but the part you are inquiring about is the Heater Element. The part number you are looking for is 3398064 and the selling price is $54.60. If you would like to order this part, please feel free to visit our www.SearsPartsDirect.com website, input the part number above and you can place the order online. You can also contact our Parts Specialist at 1-800-366-7278 where our associates will gladly get you taken care of.

This is Tino with the Sears Blue Service Crew. Marion I would like to assit you because I completely understand the inconvenience in not having your dryer operating correctly. the average life expectancy of a dryer is approximately 13 years and from the information I found, the heating fuse has blown and will need to be replaced. It is recommended that the other fuses be replaced as well because when one fuse has blown, a domino effect will occur and the others will shortly follow. Without a model number, I would be unable to locate the pricing of these fuses and due to the age of your dryer, it would be best in the long run to purchase a new one. If you feel you would like a technician, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-424-2047 where our associates will gladly set your service, or you can visit our www.SearsHomeServices.com to set your service up online.

I have a Kenmore HE2 Front load washer. During the pump and spin cycle it is the loudest washer machine we have had in over 30 years. We have had repair man come out and say that "this is the best it is going to get", then they ask me to sign a paper stating I am satisfied with the service trip. Occationally, the machine starts vibrating and moves several inches across the floor. Every time it runs, I am reminded of how I dislike Kenmore and this model of washer machine. I have a 3000 squ ft house and we can here the vibration and squeel from one side of the house, upstairs and down. My question, "Is this typical for this type of machine?" To me it seems like there is some weak structure inside the washer that is actually vibrating and causing the problem. Should I have someone else come out and look and listen to this thing?

Roe, this is Tino with the Sears Blue Service Crew and I completely understand how having your washer leak can be a huge mess and I will be happy to help. I recommend to check the hoses in the back of the washer to see if they may have come loose or fallen off. The best thing we can do to get rid of the error code would be what we call a hardwire reset, which is shutting off the breaker to the outlet the washer is connected to for two minutes. Then turn it back on and try to run the washer. When the breaker is off, power ceases in the outlet and when you turn it back on it restarts that energy and in turn restarts the unit. If that does not work then I would recommend getting professional assistance. Please feel free to call us at 1-800-424-2047 where any of our associates can assist in setting your service or you can create the service on our www.SearsHomeServices.com website.

Hello Scott, this is Tino from the Sears Blue Service Crew and I would like to thank you for submitting your question. I understand how having your oven give an error code and remain locked can be not only upsetting, but puzzling as well. I recommend to try what we call a hardwire reset, which is shutting off the breaker to the outlet the range is connected to for 5 minutes. Then turn it back on and press the PAUSE/CANCEL or CLEAR/OFF button twice to clear the display. The reason you turn off the breaker instead of unplugging it is because when you unplug the machine, power still remains in the outlet and it may not work as best. When the breaker is off, power ceases in the outlet and when you turn it back on it restarts that energy and in turn restarts the unit. With the model number provided, I was unable to locate your manual to unlock the door, but on the control panel, there should be a button(s) that will need to be held down to unlock the door. If that does not work, please feel free to call us at 1-800-803-6775 so that we can research further into this, or you can set up service with our representative or by visiting our www.SearsHomeServices.com website.

We have a leak into our attic. I can't tell if the problem is with the roof or the flasing near the gutter. Will Sears do spot repairs on an existing roof or flashing, if that's all that is needed, or will you only recommend replacment of the entire roof?
Posted by Erika Morgan on March 23, 2010 at 09:13 AM CDT #
Hi Vickey. I'm Kevyn, a Sears Blue Service Crew member. I assume the buzzing quit when you release the start button. Open the dryer door and slowly rotate the dryer drum in a counterclockwise direction. Rotate the drum 2-3 revolutions and then shut the door and see if it will start. If it continues to just hum or buzz and not start, that could indicate a voltage issue, motor issue or a friction issue. Open the door again and locate the door switch in the right upper corner of the drum opening. Use a small tool, like a pen, to hold the switch inward while someone begins rotating the drum counterclockwise. While turning the drum counterclockwise and holding the door switch in, press the start button. If it starts, there is likely a friction problem or motor problem and I would recommend having a professional technician repair your appliance. If you have any other questions or if you would like to use one of our technicians, please call us at 1-800-424-2047 or use the home page of our website, www.SearsHomeServices.com .

This type of repair does need to be completed by a qualified professional. I apologize for the inconvenience. You are able to find qualified electricians in your area by visiting www.ServiceLive.com .
Posted by Kevyn W. on March 23, 2010 at 12:54 PM CDT #
Steve, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I understand you concern you have for this problem. Your dryer's symptoms point mostly to a failed drive motor. A friction problem could also prevent the dryer from running properly. With the dryer empty, open the door and manually spin the drum counterclockwise. It should have some resistance since the belt is attached to the motor pulley. It should not be difficult to turn. If you do not detect a friction problem with the drum, then the drive motor will likely need to be replaced. It also sounds like the motor might be overheating and tripping the overload safety switch. It will not restart until it has cooled back down. A service technician is normally needed to verify this diagnosis and replace the motor. I hope this information helps. If you would like to schedule an appointment with one of our professionals, please use the home page of this website or call us at 1-800-424-2047.

Hello Renee, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. You are about to tackle quite a project! It is a good idea to use a good quality wet board for your shower. However, there are different types. Using a cement backer board is common, but is also heavy and would most likely require a professional. I would recommend using a water resistant gypsum core with a fiberglass mat backing. A blue waterproof coating is needed on the side to which the tile adheres.
Porcelain tile is very good, because it does not absorb as much moisture as ceramic tile does. Also, it's not extremely expensive. Since this is a major investment for your home, it is always good to remember that one usually gets what they pay for. So, paying a little extra for something that is better in quality, is always a better bargain in the end.
If this turns out to be more than you would like to handle on your own, we would be happy to help you with your project. A great website to check out for more tips is www.ManageMyLife.com. Another great website to find local professionals in your area is www.ServiceLive.com.

Posted by richard maraldo on March 24, 2010 at 10:52 AM CDT #
Hello Kitty, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. Thank you for purchasing the Master Protection Agreement! The technician is definitely able to do the annual check-up for your washing machine. But to do so, the routing department needs to assign him/her enough time to complete the job. To get this done, we need to pull up your service order in our system and add the yearly maintenance check to that service order.
Since the dryer is a separate appliance, we would need to schedule a separate service order. The reason, again, being so that the routing department can allot the proper amount of time for the technician to complete the job. To get this done, please call us directly at 1-800-424-2047. We look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Richard. I'm Kevyn, a Sears Blue Service Crew member. I would love to help you with this issue. I am not quite sure exactly which model appliance you have; although, I believe you are talking about a dishwasher. If you know the model number, you can view the parts schematics online to help see whether or not you still have all of the parts you need to put the spinner back together. The website is www.SearsPartsDirect.com. Once you are there, enter the complete model number on the right-hand side, click the Search button and then browse the parts schematics. First and foremost, the power should be completely disconnected from the appliance. There is usually a push-pin/axel that holds the spinner on the feed tube. The push-pin may have fallen down near the filter. If you cannot find it, it may be lodged inside the pump and might cause some problems in the future. I recommend finding it before running another wash. You are able to find disassembly instructions for that area of the dishwasher on the website www.ManageMyLife.com. I hope this information helps! If you need more assistance or if you have any other questions, please call us at 1-800-424-2047.

Bill, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I see how this can be annoying. It is difficult to give an exact answer as to why it is acting this way. It seems as though the carburetor might be stopped up and may need servicing. Also, it is possible that the fuel line has a hole and is letting air in. This will also cause the symptoms your machine is having. There might also be a bad fuel mixture causing it to stall. As you can see there are many things that can cause this problem. If checking these things do not help, I would recommend having it serviced by a professional. If you have any other questions, please give us a call at 1-800-424-2047.

This is Tino with the Sears Blue Service Crew. Karen I would like to assist you with this because I understand how important it is to have the proper information. A slide in range would actually lay on the cabinets on the sides of the range, but its still firmly on the floor. This is just creating somewhat of a fluid structure between the cabinets and the range. A free standing range is not being layed on the cabinets and the panels on the sides of the range are still intact, unlike the slide in range. Whether cabinets are around the free standing range or not, it will still look good. I hope this helps!

Will the installers connect the dishwasher to the wiring, or is an outlet required?

Hello Jerry, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. This is an excellent question! A twenty year old water softener still pumping is a great thing. And the fact that you still have a protection agreement on it is even better. There are a few things to keep in mind if you're thinking about replacing a perfectly good unit. That being one of them! It's running. You would also have to pay for a brand new machine, plus the cost of installation. On the other hand, keeping your water softener and renewing your agreement would be cheaper and keep the yearly maintenance going. If, under the Master Protection Agreement, it fails, you may qualify for a brand new water softener which may also be covered by the agreement. I have a Sears Kenmore gas free standing stove. Where the clock is I am getting error codes E3 and F1. What could be wrong Thank you John K.
Posted by John K. on March 28, 2010 at 08:54 PM CDT #
Hello John, this is Tino from the Sears Blue Service Crew and I would like to thank you for submitting your question. I understand how your oven reading the error code of E3 F1 can not only be confusing, but also inconvenience and I will be happy to assist you. Without a model number, it will be difficult to locate exactly what the error code means so I recommend to try what we call a hardwire reset. Shut off the breaker to the outlet the range is connected to for two minutes. If that does not work, then I recommend to schedule an appointment with our certified technicians. Please feel free to call us at 1-800-424-2047 so we can get you taken care of or you can visit www.SearsHomeServices.com to create your service online.

kenmore 110.20712.990 will not drain water. how do i know if it is the motor not engaging the pump or the pump? pump has been removed and all looks ok and spins approp manually.
Posted by toby on March 29, 2010 at 09:35 AM CDT #
Toby, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. This problem can cause much confusion, because the reason can be one or more different things. The most common cause is the lid switch not functioning properly. Another common one is that the drain line is kinked/clogged or the hose is shoved all the way down in the stand pipe (more than 8 inches). Ensure there is nothing lodged in the pump, as this will cause the problem your washer is having. Check the pump with a volt meter; it should be at 120V. If the pump checks okay and it does not run, I would recommend replacing the pump. Also, check the motor's resistance on the coils. If it is shorted or open, the motor is most likely bad and may need to be replaced. If the motor is not getting a current, the problem most likely is within the wiring harness. I hope this information helps you with your appliance. If you need more assistance or would like one of our technicians to repair your washer for you, please give us a call at 1-800-424-2047.

I purchased a Craftmen Mid-Engine Rider Lawn mower in 2005. For the past 2 years the sears technician adjusted the carb. more than 3 times, they had planned to change it, but adjusted the timing and it seems to be a little better.
Question; 1) I am still having a hard time to start the unit. I took the spark plug to the store to replace it and by the looks of the plug, the salesperson claimed that the engine is burning oil and need an engine overhall, etc.
2) The motor is really sluggish and sometimes cut off while mowing.
3) When the clutch is push forward the blade to cut, the blade does not engage, but if I push the pully by hand(with motor off) it engages the blade.
Please assist

Hello Visnu, this is Tino from the Sears Blue Service Crew and I would like to thank you for submitting your question. I understand how having your lawn mower not working properly can be an inconvenience for you, especially in this time of the Season and I will be happy to assist you. Your tractor may not be starting because if the choke has been on too long while attempting to start the engine, the cylinder(s) will be flooded with fuel and the spark plug will be wet with fuel, keeping the engine from starting. I recommend to change the filter because if the fuel filter is dirty the tractor's engine may run rough or may not even start.
It seems as though the belt may need to be replaced if your motor is running sluggish. The tractor uses a primary belt to engage the blades so I recommend to verify that the clutch mechanism is clear of any obstruction clear obstructions as needed, make sure belt is routed properly and verify the idler pulley is spinning freely. Here is a great website that provides free troubleshooting, www.LawnmowerMan.tv but I recommend to get scheduled with our certified trained technicians. Please feel free to call us at 1-800-424-2047 where any of our associates will gladly get you taken care of, or you can create your service on our www.SearsHomeServices.com website.

Posted by lucy summers on April 02, 2010 at 01:45 PM CDT #
Lucy, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I assume the engine will run but the deck is just not engaging. Lower the deck all the way down and do not start the engine. Get someone to engage and disengage the deck drive several times. When the deck is engaged, the mower belt should be tight on the mandrel pulleys. If it is not tight, something in the idler pulley and the deck engaging mechanism might have come loose or broken. If this is the case, which it most likely is, which ever part is broken will need to be replaced. I would recommend having a technician repair this problem. I hope this information helps! If you have any other questions, please call us at 1-800-424-2047.

96.6.44.203. I'm Kevyn, a Sears Blue Service Crew member. Convection ovens may take longer to turn off than other modeled ranges. If it does not turn off within 15 minutes, turn OFF the breaker switch to your range and call a professional to take a look at it to diagnose the root cause of the problem. The electronic oven control may have malfunctioned. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please use the home page of our website or call us at 1-800-424-2047. I hope this information helps!
Posted by Kevyn W. on April 04, 2010 at 05:32 PM CDT #
Hi David, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I see what a pain this might be for you. I can help! This is most likely caused by the water drain being frozen or clogged. Every time the unit goes into a defrost cycle, water will run down into the refrigerator, instead of down the drain. To clear the drain, remove everything in the freezer so the back panel can be removed. With the panel removed, you will see the evaporator coil and directly under the coil is the drain trough (pan). The trough will probably be full of ice that will need to be removed. With the ice out of the trough, you will be able to see the drain hole which will be plugged with ice. Use hot water to clear the drain hole. Keep working the hot water into the hole and wiping the excess water. This can take quite awhile depending on how deep the ice is. These parts and the defroster you mentioned are in different areas of the unit depending on the model number. To get a better look at your model's insides, please visit www.SearsPartsDirect.com and enter the complete model number on the right-hand side. If you would like to schedule an appointment with one of our technicians, please use the home page of our website or call us directly at 1-800-424-2047.

Have a Sears Water softener 625.3484500.
It was backwashing during the middle of the day continuous, and a clicking sound was recurring.
Wouild that be the timer for this unit or the motor on the valve assy? Or something else???
Posted by Gil Adkins on April 05, 2010 at 12:14 PM CDT #
Hello Gil, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. This type of product can certainly be somewhat confusing at times. The clicking and continuous backwash can be caused by so many different things. I recommend that you should speak directly with our Kenmore Water hotline. This department specializes in water filtration systems, reverse osmosis and, of course, water softeners. Their telephone number is 1-800-426-9345. That department also has a website, www.KenmoreWater.com which has a vast amount of technical advice for water softeners. In my opinion, there is no amount of information and resources that can be too much to have. With this said, another great website to visit is www.ManageMyLife.com . This free website has so much information, it is almost unbelievable. If the answer is not there, you are able to Ask An Expert, who will then reply to you on the website. I hope this information helps! If you need more assistance or would like to schedule an appointment for your water softener to be serviced, please give us a call at 1-800-424-2047.

Hello Staci, this is Tino from the Sears Blue Service Crew. I apologize that you dishwasher is giving you some trouble. I understand how having the dishwasher's locking feature acting up on you can be some what of a hassle and I will be happy to help. Without a model number it will be difficult to determine if your inquiry is about the child lock feature or the actual lock itself, so I will provide both possible solutions to help you out.
If this is the child lock feature, there will be a lock indicator either on the Heated-Dry, Air Dry or the Delay Start button and this button will need to be held down for a full 8 seconds and you will notice it will start to blink then disappear. If the actual door lock is giving you some trouble, I recommend to purchase the door lock assembly that can be found on our www.SearsPartsDirect.com website or you can call our Parts Specialist directly at 1-800-366-7278 where any of our associates will gladly get you taken care of.

My Kenmore Oasis He Washer, Model 110.27086604, spins out of balance and flashes UL, after shutting down due to incredible balance issues. Does this with all loads, empty and after resetting clothes. Unit is level and stable?
Posted by Chris on April 08, 2010 at 09:54 PM CDT #
This is Tino with the Sears Blue Service Crew. Chris I would like to assist you because I completely understand how having your washer give you that error code is not only puzzling but also an inconvenience and I'll bee happy to assist you. The UL error code is indicating an unbalanced load and when you redistribute the load the washer will automatically start back up. Before the UL error code is displayed, the washer will automatically try and balance itself, but if it can not then the UL error code is displayed.
If the washer does not start after redistributing the clothes, I recommend to try what we call a hardwire reset, which is shutting off the breaker to the outlet the washer is connected to for two minutes. Then turn it back on and try to run the washer.
Please feel free to call us at 1-800-424-2047 where any of our associates will gladly get you taken care of, or you can create the service order on our www.SearsHomeServices.com website.

Posted by David McMullen on April 09, 2010 at 02:36 PM CDT #
Hello David, this is Kevyn from the Sears Blue Service Crew. It's mowing season, and you need your mower! The parts that you have checked are the basic things that can cause this problem with your tractor. If the things you checked did not solve the problem, there are a few, more technical, issues that might need to be checked as well. You would need to check the compression, the valve adjustments and the fly wheel to make sure it is not sheared. If you would like to have one of our technicians make these diagnostic checks for you, please use the home page of this website to schedule an appointment or call us directly at 1-800-424-2047. Hi, I am trying to replace a 13 yr old Craftsman belt drive garage door opener with a new one. I have gotten it all together, but am having trouble setting the tension on the belt. The instructions are somewhat vague in that the illustration does not really show exactly where to put the tip of the screw driver. The instructions speak of putting the screw driver "into one of the nut ring slots." The are no slots on the nut ring, and it does not seem that the spring could release over the nut either.

Hi Howard, I'm Cameron a Sears Blue Service Crew member. I know what it's like trying to find the right part when you're working on a repair. When you're working with pneumatics, the precise details really matter. We order all of our parts directly from the manufacturer. So, with a complete model number, we're able to locate the correct part for you right away. Unfortunately, we don't have access to the specifications on these parts. You might be able to visit www.ManageMyLife.com and ask a question of one of their experts, as they are very familiar with our products. You will need to register on the website to submit a question, but it's free and only takes a minute. If, on the other hand, you do manage to locate the complete model number, we can always go ahead and order that part for you at www.SearsPartsDirect.com or by calling us directly at 1-800-424-2047.

does sears do free estimates on repairs or is there any cost involved. when i did the service request it said a flat rate of 52.99. I don't want to pay that much if the vacuum is not repairable. I purchased a switch thinking that was the problem but I still have no suction on machine

This is Korinna with the Sears Blue Service Crew. Jim I would like to assist you today. Sears does not offer free estimates on repair. The flat rate labor charge of $52.99 will cover all the labor, no matter how big a job or how long it takes, the labor to you is $52.99. If parts are needed that will be separate. I can definitely understand your concern on paying for repair on a product that may not be repairable. There's a free website provided to our customers by Sears, where you can submit a detailed question of what is wrong with your vacuum, along with the complete model number, to the experts at Managemylife.com. Within a few business days the experts will respond with step-by-step instructions, diagrams, and/or pictures to help you. Here's how to Ask The Expert, Go to www.ManageMyLife.com , login or sign up and create your screen name (its free!), click on the red tab that says "Answers", type in your question including your model number and click submit. What cleaner do I use on my Kenmore Elite Refrigerator that does not leave streaks? The one I'm using leaves large streaks and look awful.

Hi Joan, I'm Tino a Sears Blue Service Crew member and I would like to thank you for submitting your question. I understand what a mess it can be to have your refrigerator leaking and I will be happy to assist you. Your refrigerator may be leaking water due to improper water supply connection because when water is connected to a refrigerator there is always potential for leaks. Check the connections at the water shut off and at the refrigerator.
Make sure the water line from the in-house water supply to the refrigerator is not damaged or cracked. If the water line is cracked, contact a licensed plumber to replace it. If your refrigerator has a water filter, the leak may be coming form there but without a model number I am unable to locate where your filter is. If this does not help, I recommend to schedule service with our certified technicians and you can do so by calling us at 1-800-424-2047 where any of our associates will gladly get you taken care of, or you can create your service on our www.SearsHomeServices.com website.

This is Tino with the Sears Blue Service Crew. Valued Customer I would like to assist you because I understand the inconvenience in not having your washer working properly and I will be happy to assist you. I recommend to check the drain hose in the back and make sure it is not kinked, smashed or clogged and in order for the washer to drain correctly, the drain standpipe must meet manufacturers requirements for height. This is typically between 33 inches and 8 feet. The standpipe height requirements vary slightly by model, consult the manual to find specific information and here is the link
http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0901383.pdf. for your manual. If this does not work, I recommend to visit our www.ManageMyLife.com website to

Kenmore DW mn 66517032400 has blinking norm wash light and will not start. Electronic Control board replaced, no change. I have been told replacing control PANEL will fix the problem. Do you have experience that would support replacing the control panel (buttons) would fix this problem?

Hello Fred, this is Tino from the Sears Blue Service Crew and I would like to thank you for submitting your question. I understand then importance in providing you with the proper information that you are looking for and I will be happy to assist you. I highly recommend to try what we call a hardwire reset, which is shutting off the breaker to the outlet the dishwasher is connected to for two minutes. Then turn it back on and try to run the dishwasher.
The reason you turn off the breaker instead of unplugging it is because when you unplug the machine, power still remains in the outlet and it may not work as best. When the breaker is off, power ceases in the outlet and when you turn it back on it restarts that energy and in turn restarts the unit. If this does not work, please feel free to visit our www.ManageMyLife.com website to ask the expert. Login or Sign Up and create your screen name (ITS FREE!), click on the red tab that says "Answers", type in your question including your model number and click submit.

Robert, this is Tino with the Sears Blue Service Crew and I would like to assist you. I completely understand the inconvenience in not having your refrigerator cooling properly. Since everything seems to be running accordingly, it seems as if though it may be the condenser coil needs to be cleaned. when the coil gets dirty, its starts to effect the cooling of the refrigerator and you can clean this coil with mild water and soap.
Your condenser coil may be located at the very bottom of your refrigerator behind the toe grill, or on the very back of your refrigerator. If this does not solve the problem, I recommend to schedule service with our technicians or you can visit our www.ManageMyLife.com website to ask our experts. After logging in or signing up (ITS FREE!), click on the red tab that says "Answers", type in your question including your model number and click submit. Roper dryer motor buzzes when you turn the timer, but is not turning the barrel.
Posted by larry on April 22, 2010 at 09:12 PM CDT #
Hi Larry, I'm Tino a Sears Blue Service Crew member and I completely understand the inconvenience in not having your dryer working properly. The most likely reason the barrel is not turning is because the belt is either loose or broken. That buzzing noise may be coming form the pulleys because the belt is not providing the proper tension on the barrel. You can find your parts on our www.SearsPartsDirect.com website, or you can schedule service with our certified trained technicians by calling 1-800-424-2047 where any of our associates will gladly get you taken care of.

my craftsman dlt3000 riding mower (917.273481) rear wheels have locked up while sitting over the winter in my garage. How do i free them up?
Posted by Scott on April 24, 2010 at 09:51 AM CDT #
This is Korinna with the Sears Blue Service Crew. Scott, I would like to assist you today. I can definitely understand the inconvenience of your riding mower not working properly. The most common problem when the rear wheels are locked is the brake pads. If the brake pads are stuck, you can't push or drive the mower. The brake pads usually run on a brake disc on the side of the transaxle. Spraying the brake pads and disc with some WD40 and working the brake pedal up and down will sometimes release the pads. You can see the brake pads from under the mower to see if they are stuck. If this does not help, I recommend to schedule service with our certified technicians, you can do so by calling us at 1-800-424-2047 where any of our associates will gladly get you taken care of, or you can create your service on our www.SearsHomeServices.com website.

I have a lawnmower that is only 1 yr old. I can't get it to run after it fires up. I prime the carborator and the engine fires up, but then dies shortly after. I have removed the air filter and sprayed carborator cleaner in the carborator and it fires and then dies. I have taken off the bowl and cleaned it and cleaned the float. Still no luck. Any suggestions?
Posted by Jeremiah Warner on April 24, 2010 at 09:18 PM CDT #
Jeremiah, this is Kevyn with the Sears Blue Service Crew. I see how this problem could get pretty annoying. I'm glad you've already done those things you mentioned. Those can all cause this problem your machine is having. Another problem, which is most likely the cause, is the fuel being too old. The fuel should usually be changed if it has been sitting for a month or so. Over time, condensation can leave water in the fuel tank, causing the mower to start and then die. Also, even though you have sprayed cleaner into the carburator, it may still be stopped up. If all else fails, I would recommend taking the lawn mower to your nearest Sears repair drop-off location. You can find the store nearest you by visiting www.Sears.com, clicking on "Find A Store" at the top of the page and filling in the boxes provided. If you need further troubleshooting advice, please visit www.ManageMyLife.com . This website has a vast amount of technical information for most things around one's home. You can also give us a call directly at 1-800-424-2047. I hope this information helps!
